摘要: A fill spout for a drainage device is disclosed which permits the user to supply water directly to a water seal chamber of the drainage device for establishing a water seal therein. The fill spout comprises a funnel having lateral sides for facilitating the entry of the water into the drainage device, a depending lip extending from the fill spout for preventing any run off or spillage, and a tab having an arcuate-shaped rest which permits the user to open and close the fill spout. In use, the user pulls the tab which opens the fill spout and places a water-filled bottle against the rest. The user then pours a predetermined amount of water through the funnel and directly into the water seal chamber.

摘要: A sleeve which includes a tamper-evident indicator that is securely engagable to a catheter assembly and allows for clear visual indication of whether the connected tubes have been tampered with or the tubes have been disconnected and reconnected. The sleeve comprises a first and second cover portions having a hollow cylindrical shape including barb members attached to the interior surface of the cover portions. A tab connects the two cover portions and is severable from the catheter assembly upon pulling the tab relative to the cover portions, thereby releasing the sleeve. Other than by using the tab, a user cannot release the sleeve without an indication of tampering to the sleeve itself.

摘要: A system to promote the healing of an exuding wound includes a wound dressing, a subatmospheric pressure mechanism, and a collection canister. The wound dressing is dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed of a subject. The subatmospheric pressure mechanism includes a control unit disposed within a housing. The control unit includes a vacuum source associated with a vacuum port. The collection canister has an interior wall which defines an internal chamber. The internal chamber is in fluid communication with the vacuum source of the subatmospheric pressure mechanism through the vacuum port and with the wound dressing for collecting exudates removed for the wound bed under influence of the vacuum source. The canister including a baffle mechanism disposed within the internal chamber for dampening the movement of the collected exudates.

摘要: A system for subatmospheric pressure therapy in connection with healing a wound is provided. The system includes a wound dressing cover dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed of a subject to establish a reservoir over the wound bed in which subatmospheric pressure may be maintained, a subatmospheric pressure mechanism including, a housing, a vacuum source disposed in the housing, and a collection canister in fluid communication with the vacuum source. The system further includes an exudate conduit in fluid communication with the wound dressing and the collection canister for collecting exudate removed from the reservoir and deposited in the collection canister under influence of the vacuum source and a vent conduit in fluid communication with the collection canister and the wound dressing for introducing air into the reservoir to facilitate flow of exudate through the exudate conduit.

摘要: A medical clamping assembly includes a housing defining a chamber and a deflecting member operable to slide relative to the housing between a first position and a second position. A conduit is also provided within the housing and is adapted for fluid coupling to a medical device. The medical clamping assembly also includes a biasing element disposed within the housing adjacent to the conduit. The deflecting member is movable relative to the housing between the first position corresponding to an open state of the conduit and the second position corresponding to a closed state of the conduit whereby the biasing element compresses the conduit to substantially close a lumen of the conduit.
