    摘要: A cryoablation system including a cannula having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis, an expandable balloon extending from the distal end of the cannula and fluidly connected to a source of heat transfer fluid by at least one fluid path, a pump for circulating the heat transfer fluid into and out of the balloon, a probe handle coupled to the proximal end of the cannula and in fluidic communication with the balloon through the cannula, and a heat exchanger for varying the temperature of the heat transfer fluid, wherein the heat exchanger is fluidly connected to a secondary refrigerant source. The heat exchanger may be positioned within the probe handle, within the cannula, or at least partially within the balloon. The heat transfer fluid of this cryoablation system preferably has a freezing point lower than about −110° C. and a boiling point greater than about 50° C.

As described herein, various systems can be used alone or in conjunction with one another to plan and/or monitor cryosurgical procedures in order to improve cryosurgical outcomes. Through the use of these systems, the precision by which cryosurgical procedures are performed are enhanced.

    摘要: A tubular prosthesis comprises a tubular graft; and an undulating stent having a plurality of apexes, a first end defined at least in part by a first group of the apexes, and a second end defined at least in part by a second group of the apexes, the first group of apexes being pivotally attached to the tubular graft so as to form a plurality of circumferentially arranged hinges about which the stent can pivot so that the second group of apexes can move between a position where they are inside the tubular graft and a position where they are outside the tubular graft. In one embodiment a tubular prosthesis comprises a tubular graft having a first end margin, a second end margin and a central portion therebetween; and an undulating stent having a plurality of apexes, a first end defined at least in part by a first group of the apexes, and a second end defined at least in part by a second group of the apexes, the undulating stent being secured to the tubular graft in a manner such that it can be inverted to extend generally in the same direction as the tubular graft with one end thereof forming an end of said tubular prosthesis and pointing away from the central portion of the tubular graft.

    摘要: A medical device is provided and includes a thermal ablation catheter and a deployable cage assembly for use in thermal ablation therapy. The deployable cage assembly includes a plurality of arms, each of which has a pair of opposed ends attached to the thermal ablation catheter. Each of the arms is movable from a relaxed configuration to a deployed configuration. When relaxed, the arms are substantially proximate to the thermal ablation catheter. When deployed, the arms cooperate with each other to form an open structure which extends radially outward from the thermal ablation catheter. The thermal ablation device also includes a distensible bladder that serves as an endocervical seal.

    摘要: A device for tissue ablation comprises plural arrays of segmented needle electrodes, each of which contains a plurality of electrically conductive segments, a plurality of non-conductive joints, and a needle tip. Each of the electrically conductive segments is wired to a radio-frequency electrical power source and can be connected to and disconnected from the power source. After the needle electrodes of the device are penetrated into a target tissue to be ablated, the intended volume of ablation can be configured in three dimensions. Thus, the device allows physicians to effectively control ablation boundaries.
