A sensing field such as an electromagnetic field is established having an amplitude which changes in value due to the presence of a target in the sensing field. A first energy level is provided to maintain the field at an amplitude. A second energy level is provided to achieve a value for the field within the predetermined amount of time after initiation of the field.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a centrifugal pump wherein voltage and current data are detected from voltage and current sensors in the motor controller of a pump motor. A power signal is then generated from the voltage and current data and spectrally analyzed to determine the presence of unwanted harmonics which are indicative of mechanical disturbances in the pump. As such, anomalies resulting from mechanical interference may be detected and a warning flag provided without additional transducers and other instruments on the motor or pump.

    摘要: A method of shifting a transmission having both a hydrostatic portion, including a variable pump (15), and a hydraulic motor (29), and a mechanical transmission (33) portion, including a shift cylinder (37). The method includes relieving the output torque of the motor (29), shifting the mechanical transmission to neutral, and controlling the. displacement of the pump (15) to synchronize motor output speed with the required input speed to the desired gear ratio of the mechanical transmission (33). Then fluid flow to the shift cylinder (37) occurs to shift to the desired gear ratio. The shifting method includes a series of steps in which the feasibility of the prospective shift is determined, and only when the prospective shift can be completed, without detriment to the operation of the vehicle, will the shift be completed. As a result, the shifting between low gear and high gear can occur without bringing the vehicle to a stop each time.

    摘要: A back-up proximity sensor for a vehicle is formed with an array of sensor pairs. Each sensor pair includes a lower passive infrared sensor (PIR) having a first field of view and an upper PIR having a second field of view. Each lower PIR and upper PIR is vertically mounted with respect to one another. The lower PIR and upper PIR of each sensor pair are angularly directed such that the respective fields of view intersect, thereby establishing a detection zone in a region behind a vehicle. The sensor pairs are arranged in a substantially adjacent, semicircular configuration to provide a continuous area of coverage behind a vehicle. A detection circuit receives output signals from each sensor pair and generates an output signal indicative of a warm body being detected by both the upper and lower sensors in a selected sensor pair, eliminating false alarms generated by warm bodies outside the region of the desired detection zone.

    摘要: A hydrostatic power steering system comprising a fluid motor (19) which receives pressurized fluid from a controller (17) in response to the rotation of a vehicle steering wheel (W). As the motor (19) or the steered wheels reach the stops, control logic (31) receives signals (37,77) representing steered wheel and steering wheel position, respectively, and generates appropriate command signals (33,27) to a pressure reducing/relieving valve (15) and to a proportional electromagnetic valve (23), respectively, closing the valve (15) somewhat, and opening the valve (23). A pressure differential is built between an additional fluid path (21) and the high pressure conduit (15c) between the controller (17) and the fluid motor (19). Pressure is communicated through the valve (23) into the conduit (51c), and back into the fluid meter (43) of the controller, preventing any further rotation thereof in response to an attempt to turn the steering wheel, thus eliminating travel limit slip.

    摘要: A backup proximity sensor for a vehicle includes a first passive infrared sensor (PIR) and a second PIR vertically mounted with respect to one another on a pivotal support member. The first PIR and second PIR are angularly directed such that the respective fields of view converge, establishing a detection zone in a region behind a vehicle. A drive motor and scanning gear box are coupled to the pivotal support member and pivotally drive the first and second PIR in an oscillatory fashion about a predetermined arc. This establishes relative motion between the PIRs and a stationary warm body in the field of view of the two sensors, allowing the stationary body to be detected. A detection circuit receives output signals from the first PIR and second PIR and generates an output signal indicative of a warm body being detected by both the first and second PIRs. This eliminates false alarms generated by warm bodies outside the region of the desired detection zone.
