The authoring unit authors an assembly process manual in such a way as to model each stage of an assembly process of assembling a plurality of components and completing a finished product using 3-Dimensional (3D) stereoscopic images. The storage unit stores the assembly process manual authored using the authoring unit. The visualization unit visualizes the each stage of the assembly process manual stored in the storage unit to a user.

Various 3D image display devices divide and share a physical space for expressing a 3D image, and real-time contents information is generated based on user information and information on the divided space and displayed together using various 3D image display devices to present a 3D image naturally in a deeper, wider, and higher space. A mixed reality display platform includes an input/output controller controlling display devices including 3D display devices, an advance information manager establishing 3D expression space for each display device to divide or share a physical space by collecting spatial establishment of the display device, and a real-time information controller generating real-time contents information using user information and 3D contents for a virtual space. The input/output controller distributes the real-time contents information to each display device based on the 3D expression spatial information.

Disclosed herein is a reconfigurable platform management apparatus for a virtual reality-based training simulator, which enables a device platform to be reconfigured to suit various work environments and to fulfill various work scenario requirements of users. The reconfigurable platform management apparatus for a virtual reality-based training simulator includes an image output unit for outputting a stereoscopic image of mixed reality content that is used for work training of a user. A user working tool unit generates virtual sensation feedback corresponding to sensation feedback generated based on a user's motion to the outputted stereoscopic image when working with an actual working tool. A tracking unit transmits a sensing signal obtained by sensing a user's motion working tool unit to the image output unit and the user working tool unit.

A design evaluation system of mobile devices using virtual reality based prototypes is proposed. The system includes: a storage unit for storing therein 3-dimensional computer-aided design data of a virtual mobile device; a component selection unit for performing a selection among the 3-dimensional computer-aided design data stored in the storage unit and fetching the selected data therefrom; a design parameter setting unit for setting design parameters of the virtual mobile device; a 3-dimensional model visualization unit for visualizing the virtual mobile device to a 3-dimensional model by using the design parameters and the fetched data; a product motion control unit for simulating motions and functions of the visualized virtual mobile device; and a design preference display unit for displaying user design preference for the visualized and simulated virtual mobile device.

A system for evaluating usability of a virtual mobile information appliance unites a virtual reality technology integrating various digital data created in planning and in designing a product to operate a virtual product and visualizing the virtual product in photo-realistic level, an affective technology organizing a customer's emotional evaluation on a product's design in view of engineering, an ergonomic technology quantatively measuring and analyzing body force activity involved in the operation of a product in a biomechanic manner, and a mixed reality technology supporting both tangible interface capable of directly touching the digital data and a photo-realistic visualization, to thereby finding problems of usability early, obtaining improvements such as a design of the product, improving efficiently an overall quality of the product and managing product-lifetime-cycle in a company manufacturing the product.
