摘要: The present invention relates to a process for the sterile transfer of fluids, be they liquids or gases. It uses a presterilized device comprised of a body having a bore formed through at least a portion of its interior. Contained within the bore is a movable plunger. The body has a first and a second end. The first end contains a face designed to be attached to the upstream component. The second end is connected to a downstream component such as a filter, pipeline, sample bag and the like. The plunger has corresponding first and second ends. The first end of the plunger when it the closed position is in alignment with the face of the body which combined form a steamable surface and a sterile barrier against the environment to the rest of the interior of the body, the plunger and downstream components. The device is attached to an upstream component and the face and the first end of the plunger are steam sterilized in place.

摘要: A clamp device for a barb member having a barbed region for disposing within an end of a flexible tube having an outer surface. The clamp device includes a flexible member including a body having a plurality of finger members compressible between a first resting position and a second clamping position; at least one of the flexible finger members having a radially inwardly extending tooth; the body having a through bore and an outer surface comprising threads; the flexible member being slidable over the barbed region and the outer surface of the flexible tube; a compression member having a body having a through bore and an inner surface including threads; the compression member being slidable over the flexible member; wherein upon threadingly engaging the compression member with the flexible member, the compression member compresses the finger member against the barb member.

摘要: Containers for separating microcarriers from a cell culture fluid that offer a greater efficiency of filtration of cell culture fluids containing microcarriers relative to systems described in the art. The container may include a first compartment that may include a sterile collapsible bag, an inlet port providing a fluid path into the first compartment and an outlet port providing a fluid path exiting the first compartment; and a second compartment fluidly connected with the inlet port of the first compartment and including a plurality of independent or discrete microcarrier receiving regions defined by boundary walls which are partially or fully porous and having a porosity sufficient to retain the microcarriers inside the second compartment, while allowing the cell culture fluid to pass through the second compartment into the outlet port of the first compartment, where the cell culture fluid can be collected.

摘要: A disposable flow path having a manifold system that provides pressure resistance for the disposable device. The disposable device is comprised of a first rigid plastic sheet and a second rigid plastic sheet. Each sheet has two major surfaces and a thickness between them. At least one sheet surface has flow channels formed in it. The flow channels extend away from a first major surface and beyond the normal plane of a second major surface of the sheet. The sheets are liquid tightly sealed to each other at their adjoining first major surfaces. When each sheet contains a flow channel, the flow channels are aligned and in register with each other. One or more fittings can be secured in the flow channel(s) at an edge of the two liquid tightly sealed sheets. Alternatively, tubing is placed in the channels before the sheets are secured to one another.
