    摘要： A media selection is delivered in discreet segments from a server computer over a distributed network to a client device. A user can annotate each media segment and record a reading of any text of the media and any additional commentary in segments. The voice data is either recorded over the network by the server computer or transferred from the client device over the network to the server computer. The recorded audio segments are synchronized with the media segments and assembled with prerecorded segment cues. The audio recording is copied to a removable storage media and shipped with a copy of the media selection to a recipient. For example, a grandparent can view the pages of a children's book through an Internet web browser, add or edit personal anecdotes, and read the book for page-by-page recording over a network to a storage server. The audio performance is copied to a compact disk and shipped with a copy of the book to a grandchild.

    摘要： An audio performance of a media selection is recorded in segments over a communication network. A sender obtains a copy of a media selection that may be divided into media segments for audio recording. The sender can annotate and record a reading of each media segment and any additional commentary. The audio data constituting the “audio performance” is transmitted from a sender telephony device over the communication network to a voice server. The segments of audio data may be collected and arranged in order and assembled with prerecorded segment cues. The audio segments may also be synchronized with digital copies of the media segments. In one implementation, a user, for example, a grandparent, can read a children's book into a telephony device, including personal anecdotes, for page-by-page recording over the communication network for storage at a voice server for later fulfillment to a grandchild in conjunction with a copy of the media selection in physical or electronic form.

    摘要： Disclosed herein is a method and system for detecting, monitoring and/or controlling one or more of mobile services for a mobile communication device (also referred to herein as a Controllable Mobile Device or CMD), and in particular, when the device is being used and the vehicle, operated by the user of the device, is moving. The present method and system determines whether the vehicle is being operated by a user that may also have access to a mobile communication device which, if used concurrently while the vehicle is in operation, may lead to unsafe operation of the vehicle. If the mobile services control system determines that a vehicle operator has potentially unsafe access to a mobile communication device, the mobile services control system may restrict operator access to one or more services that would otherwise be available to the operator via the mobile communication device.

The sender can annotate each media segment and record, also in segments, a reading of any text of the media and any additional commentary, including observations or opinions regarding musical or video media streams. The voice data, i.e., the “audio performance,” is transmitted from a sender telephone connected to a telephone network to a voice server associated with the media server. The segments of audio are synchronized with the media segments and assembled with prerecorded segment cues. In one implementation, a user, for example, a grandparent, can view the pages of a children's book through an Internet web browser, add or edit personal anecdotes, and read the book for page-by-page recording over the telephone network to a storage server for later presentation to a grandchild.
