    摘要: A housing (30) has cavities (31) for receiving terminal fittings (10), and a lock (33) is provided in each cavity (31). The terminal fitting (10) temporarily resiliently deforms the lock (33) when the terminal fitting (10) is inserted into the cavity (31). The lock (33) then is restored resiliently to engage the terminal fitting (10) when the terminal fitting (10) reaches a proper depth. An outer wall (17) of the terminal fitting (10) facing the lock (33) has a locking projection (27) projecting toward and engageable with the lock (33). A recess (54) is formed in a surface of the lock (33) that slides in contact with the locking projection (27) in an inserting process. An arcuate surface (29a) of the locking projection (27) and a bottom surface (54a) of the recess (54) have substantially conforming shapes.

    摘要: A connector has a housing (20) with cavities (26) for receiving terminals (10). A lock (30) projects is provided in each cavity (26) and has a forwardly tapered locking surface (32) that is sloped to project more forward at the base than at the top. The connector also has a retainer (50) with a restricting plate (53) to prevent displacement of the locks (30) toward deformation spaces (36). Push-up protrusions (60) of the restricting plate (53) slip under the lower surfaces of the locks (30) as the retainer (50) is pushed towards a full locking position and push the locks (30) up towards cavities (26). A cam action of the sloped locking surfaces (32) pushes the female terminals (10) forward and against front walls (27).

    摘要: For effecting a terminal insertion operation with respect to a connector in which a retainer is disposed in a completely-retained position before inserting metal terminals, the metal terminal is inserted into a terminal receiving chamber. As a result, the metal terminal abuts against a slanting guide surface formed on the retainer. When the metal terminal is further advanced, an engagement force in the completely-retained position is released, so that the retainer is forced back to a provisionally-retained position where an engagement projection piece is retracted from the terminal receiving chamber. The retainer thus disposed in the provisionally-retained position is again pushed into the completely-retained position, thereby finishing the insertion of the metal terminal. Namely, regardless of whether the retainer is disposed in the provisionally-retained position or the completely-retained position, the terminal insertion operation can be effected merely by inserting the metal terminal into the terminal receiving chamber.

    摘要: A retainer 30 of an electrical connector has first and second stopping protrusions 37,38 protruding from the anterior edges of a pair of bendable members 35 and 36 located on the sides thereof. A third stopping protrusion 39 also protrudes from a location below the second stopping protrusion 38. When a retainer 30 is pushed into a final position in a retainer insertion hole 14, the first stopping protrusion 37 and the third stopping protrusion 39 are engaged by a pair of receiving members 18 and 19 located in the retainer insertion hole 14. In this manner the retainer 30 is maintained against removal even if tipped at an angle or subjected to an oblique force. Similar effects apply when the retainer is in a temporary position.
