    摘要: The 2-D/3-D compatible type image display according to the present invention is constructed by arranging a liquid crystal panel which is a display panel, a dispersed type liquid crystal panel which is a diffusing effect on/off panel, a light separating means, a backlight which is a plane light source, so as to be nearer to an observer in this order. It is possible by processing the image signal supplied to the liquid crystal panel to form a first group of pixels lined in longitudinal direction of a picture and a second group of pixels lined in the same direction of the picture alternately formed in horizontal direction, and to make the first group of pixels and the second group of pixels have different observing points respectively as left eye pixels and right eye pixels (when 3-D images are displayed), or to make the first group of pixels and the second group of pixels have the same observing points with each other (when 2-D images are displayed). When 3-D images are displayed, light from the light separating means is transmitted by making diffusing effect off. When 2-D images are displayed, light from the light separating means is diffused by making diffusing effect on.

    摘要: A ramp voltage generating apparatus according to the present invention includes a ramp voltage generating circuit for generating a plurality of ramp voltages out of phase with each other from one ramp voltage, and a control circuit. The ramp voltage generating circuit includes a plurality of voltage generating circuit portions connected in parallel to a voltage input terminal. Each voltage generating circuit portion includes a voltage output terminal, a capacitor, an operational amplifier, a first switch, a second switch and a third switch. The control circuit turns on the third switches while shifting the time point of switching each of the third switches from off to on state, and the control circuit turns off the first switches and, also, turns on the second switches during the period including the fall time point of the ramp voltage input to the voltage input terminal.

    摘要: A display device has: an RGB-RGBW conversion circuit that converts RGB signals fed thereto into RGBW signals; a display panel that has a plurality of dots each composed of four, namely R, G, B, and W, unit pixels and that displays an image based on the RGBW signals; a defect position specifier that specifies, if a unit pixel is found defective, a position of the defective pixel on the display panel; and a conversion rate controller that controls the rate at which, when the RGB signals are converted into the RGBW signals, the RGB signals are converted into a W signal according to the position of the defective pixel. If the defective pixel is a W pixel, the conversion rate for pixels adjacent thereto is made lower than the standard conversion rate set for the entire display panel.

    摘要: In a pixel circuit composing a digital-driven organic EL display device, an organic light emitting element which emits light by the supply of electric current, and two driving transistors for controlling the supply of electric current to the organic light emitting element are connected in series. The driving transistor functions as an electric current adjustment element which adjusts an electric current flowing through the organic light emitting element. When the electric current flowing through the organic light emitting element decreases by the degradation of the organic light emitting element, decrease in temperature and the like, the driving transistor acts for increasing the electric current.

    摘要: In a self-luminous type display in which one pixel includes four unit pixels of RGBW, a signal processing circuit includes first, second and third parts. The first part subtracts a minimum value in RGB input signals from each input signal of RGB. The second part calculates an RGBW signal corresponding to the case in which all the RGB input signals are the minimum value, based on an RGB signal value for realizing target white when all the RGB input signals are a maximum value. The third part determines the RGBW signal by adding a signal corresponding to each RGB subtraction result to the RGBW signal calculated by the second part. Each RGB subtraction result is calculated by the first part.
