    摘要: A recording apparatus overwrites an input signal having pulse duration periods and pulse spacing periods to an optical disk by irradiation of a laser beam to form recording marks corresponding to the pulse duration periods. The apparatus includes a detector for detecting a leading edge of the pulse duration period and for producing a start signal thereupon, another detector for detecting a trailing edge of the pulse duration period and for producing a stop signal thereupon, a pattern setting circuit for setting a predetermined basic pattern, and a pattern generator for generating the basic pattern from its beginning in response to the start signal and for terminating the generation of the basic pattern in response to the stop signal. The apparatus further includes a circuit for forming a modulated signal using a full or portion of the basic pattern produced from the pattern generator. The laser output is produced in accordance with the modulated signal.

    摘要: Disclosed is an optical information recording member which permits recording of optical information at a high speed and high density by means of energy of light or heat, as well as a high speed reproduction of the recorded information. The optical information recording member has a thin film formed on a substrate which thin film is made of TeOx constituted by a mixture of Te and TeO.sub.2 with a small amount of Au being added such that the contents of Te, O and Au in the thin film falls within a predetermined region limited in terms of atomic percent. The optical information recording member of the invention having the thin film of Te-O-Au system permits the information to be recorded in quite a short time thus allowing quite high speed of recording and reproduction as compared with the conventional recording film of TeOx system. The optical information recording member of the invention also brings about a higher recording sensitivity and a higher C/N ratio. Further, the optical information recording member may have a thermal diffusion layer of a metal having a higher heat conductivity than the thin film, formed on at least one side of the recording thin film, thereby making uniform and stabilizing the recording bits. In consequence, undesirable distortion of the recording bits is prevented even when an excessively large recording power is irradiated, thus affording a wider adaptability of the optical information recording member.

    摘要: An optical information recording medium, which includes a substrate, and a recording thin film layer provided on the base material and adapted to form variation in an amount optically detectable by absorbing at least laser light so as to record information by partially varying the recording thin film layer and to reproduce the information by optically detecting the variation amount. The optical information recording medium further includes transparent layers each provided in contact with the recording thin film layer, and each of the transparent layers has optical thickness in which, in at least two different wavelengths .lambda., integral multiple of .lambda./2 is added to the thickness giving the large laser light absorption and large optical variation amount, respectively. More specifically, the optically detectable amount is of a reflectance factor variation, and in the different wavelengths .lambda.1 and .lambda.2, with respect to the thicknesses d1 and d2 of the transparent layers which give the optical characteristic more than 60% in the absorption, and more than 20% in the reflectance factor variation, the thickness of each transparent layer is arranged to be the thickness d having relation as represented by a following equation. d=d1+(.lambda.1/2).times.m=d2+(.lambda.2/2).times.1 (m, l: positive integer or zero).

    摘要: A track on the disk is divided into plural concentric zones on the radial position thereof. During recording, the angular velocity varies according to the zones accessed for recording, and the disk is driven at a rotational velocity whereby the angular velocity is constant within any single zone but decreases as the radial position of the zone of the accessed track approaches the outside circumference of the disk. During reproducing, the disk is driven at a rotational velocity whereby the angular velocity is constant in all zones. The range of change in the relative linear velocity of the head to the track is thus smaller and the change in the recording conditions is less during recording. During reproducing, there is no delay time required for rotational control of the disk, and the desired track can be more quickly accessed.

    摘要: There is disclosed an optical information recording apparatus for recording optical information in a phase change type optical recording medium and a method therefor. The order of the atomic arrangement of the optical recording medium is capable of changing between a first state of order thereof and a second state of order thereof higher than the first state. A first light source generates a first light including the optical information and projecting the generated first light on the optical recording medium so as to change the order of the atomic arrangement of the optical recording medium from the first state to the second state and from the second state to the first state, mainly by heating the optical recording medium. A second light source generates a second light and projects the generated second light on the optical recording medium together with the first light so as to accelerate the change in the order of the atomic arrangement of the optical recording medium from the first state to the second state caused by the first light source by mainly exciting electrons in the optical recording medium, thereby recording the optical information in the optical recording medium.
