    摘要: Lock detecting terminals are disposed on one of connector housings that are engageable with each other, and a short circuit terminal is disposed on the other connector housing, the short circuit terminal serving to short-circuit the lock detecting terminals upon engagement of both housings. The lock detecting terminals are arranged so as to extend along an inner wall surface of the housing in such a manner that the distal ends thereof are not contact with the edge portion of the engagement opening of the housing. As a result of this construction, the lock detecting terminals will no longer be deformed while caught by the edge portion of the housing even when the housing is being engaged with the housing misaligned. Furthermore, the one connector has the short circuit electrode exposed to the outside and has a cover movable between a protecting position and an opening position, the protecting position being such a position as to allow the cover to cover the short circuit electrode, the opening position being such a position as to allow the cover to expose the short circuit electrode.

    摘要: An electrical connector assembly used for charging an electric vehicle includes a power source side connector and a vehicle side connector. The power source side connector is detachably connected to the vehicle side connector mounted on the body of an electric vehicle. A locking device disposed in the power source side connector is turned to a locking state with an ignition key of the electric vehicle so that the connectors are locked in the mating engagement. Since the power source side connector cannot be disconnected from the vehicle side connector, charging can be prevented from being inadvertently interrupted. The charging can be initiated only when the connectors are locked in the mating engagement. Alternatively, the locking device can be used to lock a switch of a charging circuit in a closed position which allows charging to take place.

    摘要: A cover 20 is attached to connector body 10, and has a connecting and supporting member 30 engageable with a receiving member 16. Once engaged the member 30 cannot be removed. The connecting and supporting member 30 can be released only by breaking a breakable member 32. Consequently the connection of the cover 20 with the connector body 10 is maintained with certainty. In a preferred embodiment a part of the breakable member 31 is retained after breaking, this giving evidence that the cover has been removed.

    摘要: In a connector of male and female interlocking terminals, a lever is provided on a first connector in a freely pivoting manner. Guide pins provided on a second connector are inserted to guide channels formed in the first connector. A stopper block is provided on the top wall of the first connector. A spring is connected between the back side of the lever and the back side on the top wall of the first connector. The lever is pulled by the spring against the stopper block and is held at a disengaging position in which guide grooves formed inside the lever and the guide channels are aligned to form an inlet for the guide pins. Since the lever is automatically returned to the disengaging position by the spring even if the lever is accidentally turned, it is not necessary to re-rotate the lever to the disengaging position, making connecting operation smoothly.

    摘要: An opening which leads inside a surface-moutable switch is sealed by a tape seal, a good seal being maintained even when heat is applied to the switch. A switch body has a top surface and an inner space in which an electrical contact is provided. A switch knob operating the electrical contact provided inside the switch is accessed through the opening. The tape seal seals the opening with an adhesive applied between the tape seal and a top surface of a switch body. A portion of the tape seal directly above the opening is drawn into the opening by a negative pressure in the opening. The surface-mountable switch is manufactured by placing the switch body applied with the tape seal in a vacuum chamber so as to evacuate air surrounding the switch body. The seal for the opening is temporarily broken by an air pressure inside the opening, and the pressure inside the opening becomes a negative pressure with respect to the atmospheric pressure. The portion of the tape seal directly above the opening is drawn into the opening. The switch body applied with the tape seal may be simply heated so that the air inside the opening is expanded. The expanded air is abruptly discharged through an air vent opening formed between the tape seal and the switch body. A negative pressure is generated in the opening to draw the tape seal into the opening, and the opening is hermetically sealed.

    摘要: An electrical connector includes a connector housing having a drain hole. A vacuum pump is connected to the drain hole through a suction pipe. The suction pipe is connected to a water trap. A control unit controls the vacuum pump on the basis of the state of a mode selecting switch and a reed switch detecting the state of a lid for closing and opening an open end of the connector housing. In mode A, the vacuum pump is actuated to aspirate water from in the connector housing with air while the lid is open. In mode B, the vacuum pump is actuated both when the lid is opened and when the lid is closed.
