The wireless communication device includes processing circuitry to: receive a packet in accordance with a lower energy wireless peer-to-peer (P2P) network communication technique from a service provider wireless device, wherein the packet indicates one or more services provided by the service provider wireless device. The processing circuitry may be further to: determine to switch to a higher energy wireless P2P communication technique to communicate with the service provider wireless device based on a determination that a target service is provided by the service provider wireless device. The processing circuitry may be further to: perform a connectivity setup with the provider wireless device to use the target service in accordance with the higher energy wireless P2P communication technique.

    摘要: Certain embodiments herein are directed to enabling service interoperability functionality for wireless fidelity (WiFi) Direct devices connected to a network via a wireless access point. A WiFi Direct device may identify various other WiFi Direct devices on a WiFi network for performing a requested service, such as printing content or displaying content to a screen. In so doing, the device may share information associated with an access point to which the device is connected with the other devices, which may also share information associated with an access point to which they are connected. In this way, WiFi Direct devices may discover their connectivity with respect to other devices to utilize a broader array of connection options for implementing a desired service, and hence, may leverage application programming interface (API) modules directed at providing service interoperability functionality between software applications and services requested by the software applications.

A NAN device may generate a first NAN frame including a first indication of a NAN operation capability, and a second indication of a transmit power of the NAN device. The NAN device may send the first NAN frame and may identify a second NAN frame received from a second NAN device, the second NAN frame including a third indication of the NAN operation capability, and a fourth indication of a transmit power of the second NAN device. The NAN device may determine, based on the transmit power of the NAN device and the transmit power of the second NAN device, an operation parameter for the 6 GHz frequency band. The NAN device may establish, based on the operation parameter, a NAN connection using the 6 GHz frequency band.

    摘要: Embodiments provide a frame extension to generate short frames with short medium access control (MAC) headers to facilitate transmissions for wireless communications devices. Many embodiments comprise MAC sublayer logic to build short frames. In some embodiments, the MAC sublayer may determine a short MAC header comprising a type field indicative of an extension frame; a subtype indicative of a short management, data, or control frame; and a frame extension indicative of a particular type of short management, data, or control frame. Some embodiments may store the short frames or short frame formats in memory, in logic, or in another manner that facilitates transmission of the short frames. Some embodiments may receive and detect communications with the short frames. Further embodiments may generate and transmit a communication with the short frames.
