摘要： A terrestrial Rf telephone system provides a plurality of voice signal channels on a plurality of forward direction carrier frequencies, each carrier frequency having an associated predetermined bandwidth which is designed to accommodate one analog voice signal, and each carrier frequency containing a plurality of slots. The system includes a base station having a plurality of circuit paths for receiving a plurality of forward direction digitized voice signals; a plurality of compressors for compressing the voice signals; a processor for assigning each of the compressed voice signals onto a dynamically assigned frequency/slot; a plurality of channel controllers, each for sequentially combining the compressed digitized voice signals into a single transmit channel bit stream, with each compressed voice signal occupying a respective repetitive sequential time slot in the transmit channel bit stream; and a plurality of modulators for modulating the carrier frequencies. A portion of the carrier frequency within a portion of each slot remains unmodulated by the transmit channel bit stream to provide a phase reference signal.

摘要： A system and method for wireless communication between a plurality of subscriber units and a base station, the base station communicating information signals from an originating source to a destination subscriber unit over a channel at an assigned one of a plurality of frequencies using repetitive time frames, each said time frame comprising a sequence of time slots. The channel is defined as having the same one or more time slots from the sequence of time slots in one or more of the time frames. The base station includes a central processing unit capable of assigning a duration of time for the information signals being sent to the destination subscriber unit. The duration equals the duration of one or more time slots in the same frame. The central processing unit maintains a memory of which time slots of each time frame have been assigned and provides the time slot assignment, and therefore channel assignment, by consulting said memory. The system includes a multiplexer for multiplexing the information signals onto the assigned channel; and a transmitter for transmitting the information signals to the destination subscriber unit using the assigned channel.

摘要： A telecommunication system for processing a plurality of simultaneous bidirectional communications includes a primary station and at least one secondary station using wireless transmissions over one of a plurality of available RF carrier frequencies. Each carrier frequency has an associated predetermined bandwidth which is designed to accommodate one analog voice signal therein and each carrier frequency contains a plurality of time slots. Each bidirectional communication includes transmit (TX) and receive (RX) information signals. The secondary stations include a baseband processor for PSK coding an input signal; a storage means coupled to said baseband processor for storing information; a control means coupled to the baseband processor and the storage means to permit access to the stored information; a filter for performing quadrature sampling of the PSK coded signal; a digital to analog converter for converting the sampled PSK coded signal into an analog signal; and a frequency translator for translating the frequency spectrum of the analog signal to a second frequency spectrum.

摘要： A system for the wireless transmission of multiple information signals utilizing digital time division circuits between a base station and a plurality of subscriber stations. The subscriber stations may be fixed or movable. The number of time division circuits is determined by the transmission quality of the signals. The base station is interconnected with an external information network, which may be analog and/or digital. The information signals are selected from the group consisting of voice, data, facsimile, video, computer and instrumentation signals. The modulation level of the signals and the power applied to the system are adjusted in accordance with signal error detection in the system. The system is provided with spatial diversity by using a plurality of antennas selectively spaced from each other to provide relatively high signal reception despite signal fading. The base station operates over a plurality of RF channel pairs. Each channel pair operation is implemented by the combination of a transmit channel circuit for processing a given plural number of information signals received simultaneously over telephone company trunk lines for simultaneous transmission to different subscriber stations over a given RF channel, and a receive channel circuit for processing a plurality of signals received simultaneously over a given RF channel from different subscriber stations to provide information signals for transmission over the trunk lines.

摘要： A toll quality terrestrial wireless digital multiple access terrestrial communication system is disclosed having a base station in communication with telephone lines and with mobile subscriber stations. The system comprises a switching matrix at the base station and set-up means at the subscriber stations. Means are provided for a periodic exchange of information during the course of communication operation concerning the present status for the connection between the base station and a subscriber station, the link quality, power, and timing adjustment thereof and providing adjustment to the subscriber station based thereupon. Base station and subscriber station apparatus are also disclosed including means for periodically exchanging information during the course of communication operation concerning the present status for the connection between the base station and a subscriber station, the link quality, power, and timing adjustment thereof and providing adjustment to the subscriber station based thereupon.

摘要： A system for the wireless transmission of multiple information signals utilizing digital time division circuits between a base station and a plurality of subscriber stations. The subscriber stations may be fixed or movable. The number of time division circuits is determined by the transmission quality of the signals. The base station is interconnected with an external information network, which may be analog and/or digital. The information signals are selected from the group consisting of voice, data, facsimile, video, computer and instrumentation signals. The modulation level of the signals and the power applied to the system are adjusted in accordance with signal error detection in the system. The system is provided with spatial diversity by using a plurality of antennas selectively spaced from each other to provide relatively high signal reception despite signal fading. The base station operates over a plurality of RF channel pairs. Each channel pair operation is implemented by the combination of a transmit channel circuit for processing a given plural number of information signals received simultaneously over telephone company trunk lines for simultaneous transmission to different subscriber stations over a given RF channel, and a receive channel circuit for processing a plurality of signals received simultaneously over a given RF channel from different subscriber stations to provide information signals for transmissions over the trunk lines.
