摘要： A process for coating or printing substrates with a coating or printing composition comprises applying a polymerizable material containing liquid-crystalline, polymerizable monomers which carry at least two polymerizable groups for coating and at least one polymerizable group for printing, to the substrate, and subsequently carrying out the polymerization, where the coating composition or the printing composition comprises a.sub.1) a chiral liquid-crystalline monomer and b) a polymeric binder and/or monomeric compounds which can be converted into the polymeric binder by polymerization, or, in the case of emulsion coatings and printing inks, a dispersion auxiliary d), or the coating composition or the printing composition comprises a.sub.2) an achiral liquid-crystalline monomer, b) a polymeric binder and/or monomeric compounds which can be converted into the polymeric binder by polymerization, or, in the case of emulsion coatings and printing inks, a dispersion auxiliary d), and c) a non-liquid-crystalline chiral compound.

摘要： Magnetic recording tape especially suitable for use as video tape and computer tape, comprising a base carrying a magnetic coating which consists essentially of a dispersion of a finely divided magnetic pigment and at least one lubricant in an organic binder. The lubricant is a compound of the formula ##STR1## IN WHICH N IS AN INTEGER OF FROM 3 TO 8 AND R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are an alkoxy or aralkoxy radical or conjointly are an alkyldioxy radical of 3 to 18 carbon atoms. A magnetic recording tape prepared with a high proportion of such a lubricant is distinguished by high abrasion resistance coupled with a minimum transfer of material to the magnetic heads even under fluctuating climatic conditions.
