The first drive assembly engages the first coupling feature of the shaft assembly when the first drive assembly is laterally translated from the first position to the second position.

    摘要: An electrical ablation apparatus including first, second, and third electrodes is disclosed. Each of the first and second electrode is configured to be selectively extended outside and selectively retracted inside a distal end of its respective lumen and is configured to diverge from its respective longitudinal axis when extended outside the distal end of its respective lumen. The third electrode is non-rotatable and is configured to be selectively extended outside and selectively retracted inside a distal end of its respective lumen. The first, second and third electrodes are extendable into a tissue treatment region to create a first necrotic zone having a first shape. At least one of the first electrode or the second electrode is selectively rotatable within its respective lumen to create a second necrotic zone having a second shape. The third electrode is configured to positionally secure the electrical ablation apparatus at the tissue treatment region.

    摘要: An adaptor apparatus comprises a seal assembly housing, a channel, and tapered surfaces. The adaptor apparatus is configured to connect a trocar seal assembly with a robotic trocar cannula and maintain pneumostasis in an insufflated body cavity of a patient. The seal assembly housing comprises an open area sufficient to receive, support, and fix the trocar seal assembly within the adaptor apparatus. The channel provides a pathway for inserting instruments from the trocar seal assembly and into the cannula. The robotic trocar cannula includes an annular flange and a tapered proximal opening. The tapered surfaces of the adaptor apparatus are configured to engage the annular flange and the tapered proximal opening of the cannula. The tapered surfaces of the adaptor apparatus are configured to complement the exterior of the annular flange and the angled opening of the cannula.

In at least one embodiment, one or both of the jaws may be flexible, such that a jaw is configured to flex when gripping tissue. Additionally, in at least one embodiment, one or more compression elements may extend from the cutting member and may be configured to cause the jaws to close when the cutting member is advanced. The compression elements may comprise a roller and/or a low-friction material. Moreover, in at least one embodiment, one or both of the jaws may be precurved, away from the cutting member's longitudinal axis. Accordingly, in various embodiments, the overall force required to advance the cutting member and/or close the jaws may be reduced.
