The method includes the steps of converting a change in electric resistance, which is caused by a change in abdominal circumference measured through a rubber waistband that is made of conductive rubber and is mounted on a lower garment of a testee during respiration, into a voltage signal, performing A/D conversion on the voltage signal, and transmitting the converted digital signal a short distance by radio using a wireless communication protocol for ZigBee, and receiving the respiratory signal transmitted by radio, transmitting it to a computer unit by wire through an RS-232 port that is a serial communication port, and enabling a tester to monitor the respiratory signal through a screen.

In the method, concentrations of oxygen and carbon dioxide gases are measured and analyzed in respiratory gas, consisting of nitrogen (N2), oxygen (O2), and carbon dioxide (CO2), to indirectly measure a concentration of nitrogen, thereby achieving measurement of absolute lung volume, such as a functional residual capacity. Disclosed is an air flow rate sensor capable of sensing an air flow rate and respirator air flow rate. The air flow rate sensor includes a chamber having left and right portions having same internal diameters and a central portion having an internal diameter greater than the internal diameters of the left and right portions, first and second pressure taps provided at the left and right portions of the chamber, respectively, and a pressure sensor connected to the first and second pressure taps to measure a differential pressure between the left and right portions of the chamber. There are obstacles on the path of air flow, so that exact and uniform measurement characteristics are maintained. Since energy loss is measured by using vortex, the structure of the air flow rate sensor is simplified. The air flow rate sensor is used as a respirator air flow rate sensor.

The method includes measuring an amount of urine collected into a container using a plurality of load cells, extracting and averaging urinary flow rate signals from the measured results, and removing the impact noise from the urinary flow rate signals, converting the urinary flow rate signals into digital signals through an A/D converting circuit, and outputting the digital signals using a personal computer or a microprocessor analyzer which is interfaced with the A/D converting circuit.
