    Abstract: A fingerprint sensing system comprising a device connection interface, and a sensing arrangement including sensing structures, a read-out circuitry connected the sensing structures, and a sensing arrangement controller for controlling the sensing arrangement between at least a first sensing arrangement operational mode and a second sensing arrangement operational mode. The system further comprising supply circuitry connected to the sensing arrangement, and comprising a supply circuitry controller for controlling the supply circuitry between a first supply circuitry operational mode and a second supply circuitry operational mode in which modes different supply power is provided to the sensing arrangement. The supply circuitry controller transitions the supply circuitry between its modes in response to a power state signal indicative of a future transition of the sensing arrangement from the first operational mode to the second operational mode.

    Abstract: A fingerprint sensor comprising a plurality of electrically conductive sensing structures arranged in a sensing plane for capacitively sensing a fingerprint of a finger; and measurement circuitry coupled to the plurality of electrically conductive sensing structures for providing measurement signals indicative of a capacitive coupling between each sensing structure in the plurality of electrically conductive sensing structures and the finger, wherein the measurement circuitry is arranged to: provide, using a first measurement circuitry configuration, a first set of measurement signals from a first set of sensing structures; and provide, using a second measurement circuitry configuration different from the first measurement circuitry configuration, a second set of measurement signals from a second set of sensing structures.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a fingerprint sensing device comprising an array of sensing elements; readout circuitry connected to the array of sensing elements; and finger detecting circuitry for detecting if a finger candidate is touching the sensing surface of the fingerprint sensing device. The fingerprint sensing device is controllable between an active state and an inactive state. When the fingerprint sensing device is in the inactive state, the finger detecting circuitry is configured to provide a finger lost signal for indicating when the finger candidate no longer touches the sensing surface of the fingerprint sensing device.

    Abstract: A fingerprint-based navigation method using a finger navigation system comprising fingerprint sensing circuitry and navigation control circuitry. The method comprises the steps of: acquiring a series of navigation sequences of fingerprint images, and for each navigation sequence in the series of navigation sequences: determining an estimated momentary finger movement based on the navigation sequence of fingerprint images; determining at least one fingerprint image parameter value indicative of a fingerprint image status based on at least one fingerprint image in the navigation sequence of fingerprint images; and evaluating the fingerprint image status. The method further comprises the steps of determining a fingerprint sensing circuitry setting based on the evaluation; and providing the fingerprint sensing circuitry setting to the fingerprint sensing circuitry only during a time period between acquisition of a final fingerprint image in one navigation sequence and acquisition of a first fingerprint image in another, directly succeeding, navigation sequence.

    Abstract: There is provided a capacitive fingerprint sensing device comprising a plurality of sensing elements, sensing circuitry for providing an analog sensing signal, drive signal circuitry providing a drive signal comprising a drive pulse having a maximum level and a minimum level, providing a change in potential difference between the finger and the sensing structure, analog sampling circuitry comprising at least three analog sample and hold circuits arranged to sample the sensing signal, and a sampling control unit for individually controlling the sample and hold circuits to capture a sample at a specified time, wherein the samples comprises one sample captured when the drive signal is at a first voltage level V1 and one sample captured when the drive signal is at a second voltage level V2, different from V1; and an analog-to-digital converter, ADC, configured to convert a combination of the samples into a digital signal, wherein the three samples are captured times such that a noise component is suppressed from the sensing signal when the combination is formed.
