There are provided electrically conducting polymer compositions comprising an electrectically conductive polymer or copolymer and an organic solvent wettable fluorinated acid polymer. Electrically conductive polymer materials are derived from thiophene, pyrrole, aniline and polycyclic heteroaromatic precursor monomers. Non-conductive polymers derived from alkenyl, alkynyl, arylene, and heteroarylene precursor monomers. The organic-solvent wettable fluorinated acid polymer is fluorinated or highly fluorinated and may be colloid-forming. Acidic groups include carboxylic acid groups, sulfonic acid groups, sulfonimide groups, phosphoric acid groups, phosphonic acid groups, and combinations thereof. The compositions can be used in organic electronic devices.

The invention describes a method or methods to create, or extend a two-dimensional (two-dimensional) electronic delocalization of a deposited solution processible material by energetic and/or chemical means for use in electronic devices. The process allows for a high degree of tunability in the extent of delocalization that occurs. Therefore the electronic properties can be tailored to various electronic target applications such as thin film transistors and photovoltaic devices.

An electronic device includes a radiation-emitting component, a radiation-responsive component, or a combination thereof. In one embodiment, the electronic device includes a substrate and a first structure overlying the substrate. The electronic device also includes a second structure that includes a first layer, wherein the first layer has a first refractive index, and the first layer includes a first edge. The electronic device further includes a second layer overlying at least portions of the first structure and the second structure at the first edge. The second layer has a second refractive index that is lower than the first refractive index. In another embodiment, the first structure includes a layer having a perimeter and a pattern lying within the perimeter. The pattern extends at least partly though the first layer to define an opening with a first edge. In another embodiment, a process is used to form the electronic device.
