摘要: A high volume mailing installation is disclosed in which the output of a programmable high speed electronic digital computer provides destination and postage amount information, a high speed chain printer driven by the computer prints the destination information on address labels, and an authorized postage printing meter is mounted piggy-back fashion on the chain printer and responds to the same computer for automatic printing of authorized postage impressions of the calculated amount on the same mailing labels. The meter includes a fast, rugged solenoid-actuated segmented flat bed postage printer unit and fixed-program electronic digital postal accounting circuitry, with appropriate security features to prevent or detect postal fraud.

摘要: A supplemental printer is mounted piggy-back fashion atop a conventional high speed chain printer or other form of computer output printing equipment; and prints, upon the same print-out sheet as the high speed printer, information generated by the same electronic digital computer to which the high speed printer responds. The supplemental printer is capable of printing postage or other special indicia not easily incorporated into the print symbol repertoire of the high speed printer. In order to make the supplemental printer operate rapidly enough to be compatible with electronic data processing equipment, its print impression is divided into parts printed by individual type segments, each actuated by its own individual print solenoid. Some of the segments are equipped with solenoid-actuated variable numerical print modules for the purpose of printing postage or other variable numerical information. After printing, the segments return to positions at unequal levels in order to deter "wiping off" unauthorized postage or other valuable print impressions.

摘要: A garment compression system for travel and storage which effectively increases the useable volume in luggage, storage closets and storage areas is disclosed. The system consists of two cooperating substantially flat plate members, at least two lengths of belting surrounding the flat plate members for use in generating compressive forces and suitable buckles and fittings to retain the system in the compressed state. Buckles of sufficient strength located on the belting are capable of holding tension forces generated in the compression process, to withstand the force generated by the compression of the items between the cooperating flat plate members. The belting has loose ends for ease of removal of the top plate member to facilitate placing items to be compressed between the top and bottom plate members. Each of the plate members has a cooperating notch suitably placed to guide the belting during the compression operation. The end of the belting is manually pulled by the user with a tensile force that causes the top and bottom plate members to move closer together. This moving of the plate members causes the articles between the two plate members to compress, thereby squeezing out the voids in the various fabrics between the plate members.

摘要: An electromechanical setting mechanism is disclosed, which uses a plurality of solenoid banks to set each print wheel of a postage printing drum. Each bank features two pairs of solenoids which are mounted upon a movable frame. One pair of the two pairs of solenoids cause the frame to move with respect to the meter housing. The moving frame in turn, positions a setting linkage which sets a postage value for a print wheel. The other pair of solenoids acts directly upon this setting linkage so as to also set a postage value for the print wheel. Each solenoid is actuated by coded electrical signals, and is offset from the center of a setting link a differing amount, to provide differing resultant settings. The actuation of any or some of the solenoids, will provide any given print wheel position from zero through nine.

摘要: A casino game or home recreational game played between a dealer with from one to seven players. In a casino the dealer is a paid employee, while in a home game any player can assume the role of dealer. The game is played with a set of 32 special dominoes or a set of 32 special standard size playing cards. The dealer will scramble the dominoes or cards face down on the table, then randomly stack eight (8) rows of four (4) dominoes or cards. Part of the game is determining who will get the first stack of dominoes or cards. Three dice are used for this purpose. The dice are scrambled when they settle down the dice are added together. The starting position is at the dealer and is counted counter clockwise. Therefore with the game capable of handling seven (7) players the dealer is number 1, 9, 17. The first stack of dominoie or cards is give to the position matching the sum of the dice. The players the arrange their dominoes or cards in such a fashion to get the four dominoes or cards into two sets of matching pairs or failing to have any matching pairs try to come as close as possible to the sum of nine (9) in each set of two. Once every player has set their dominoes or cards the dealer will open his hand and like the players look for pairs. Failing to have any pairs he will them try to make both hands as close to nine as possible. Once all hands are exposed the dealer must beat the player on both of their hands to collect the wager, additionally the player must beat the dealer both hands to win the hand. All split hands where either the dealer or player wins one part and looses the second part is called a push and the hand is finished.

The device has top, side and end walls which form a generally hollow cover adapted to fit over a single key or certain combinations of key in the "F" key section, page control key section and cursor control key section of a computer keyboard. The device is constructed to fit snugly over the key or combination of keys which it is intended to cover and to be readily removable therefrom, so that it can be installed and removed at will as needed.

摘要: A solar heat energy collector device is disclosed wherein the sun's rays strike a collector located in an insulated enclosure. The heat energy from the sun is transferred to this collector. Also forming part of the collector are conduits which contain a fluid which absorbs the heat from the collector. The heated fluid is circulated outside of the device to a remote point for utilization in any desired manner. The collector is constructed so as to be able to absorb not only the sun's rays which directly strike it but also to absorb a portion of the rays which are reflected from the collector after directly striking it. This is accomplished by providing a collector formed in the shape of a plurality of adjoining tubes each having a longitudinally extending opening therein to permit the sun's rays to strike the interior of the tubes and be captured therein in addition to striking the exterior of the tubes.

摘要: A solar energy collector has members exposed to the sun to collect heat from the sun's rays and has at least one fluid carrying conduit in heat exchange relationship with the members. Heat energy collected by the members is transferred by conduction to the fluid in the conduit for utilization. The collecting members most remote from the fluid carrying conduit are constructed with a thinner cross sectional thickness than the portion closest to the fluid carrying conduit so as to improve the heat transfer through the member from the surface to the fluid in the conduit.

摘要: A setting mechanism for sequentially setting the print wheels in a postage printing device. The setting mechanism is electrically controlled so as to interface the postage printing device with a computerized or electronic postage system. The setting mechanism comprises a main rotatable driving gear which is slidable upon a splined shaft so as to individually, operatively engage a plurality of print wheel driving racks in a sequential fashion. A setting linkage connected to the main driving gear positions the gear into individually engaging with a plurality of rotatable shafts individually driving each of the print wheel driving racks. A stepper motor is connected to the splined shaft which turns the splined shaft, and which in turn rotatably drives the main drive gear. The setting linkage is actuated by means of a pair of solenoids.
