Abstract:
A system and method for improving the user experience with a mobile wireless device by reconnecting to a faster speed connection after being rejected for the higher speed by an overloaded cell before expiration of a de-prioritization timer when the mobile wireless device travels away from the overloaded cell. In an embodiment, a method includes receiving from the first cell a connection rejection instructing the mobile wireless device to de-prioritize one or more frequencies of the first connection technology and a de-prioritization timer indicating a time period for the frequencies to remain de-prioritized; determining that the mobile wireless device has left the coverage area of the first cell; and connecting to a second cell of the telecommunication network via a connection in the one or more frequencies of the first connection technology prior to the expiration of the de-prioritization timer.
Abstract:
A processing device, computer program, and method are provided for mapping frame buffers to a plurality of logical displays. A plurality of frame buffers are identified which are each associated with different parameters. The frame buffers are mapped to a plurality of logical displays, based on the different parameters. A display of contents of the frame buffers mapped to the logical displays is caused utilizing at least one physical display.
Abstract:
A mobile device implemented method includes receiving a request at the mobile device from a user to make an emergency call over a network, attempting to place the emergency call via the mobile device, detecting a failure of random access attempt procedure for the emergency call by the mobile device, using a reduced back off parameter value as compared to a back off parameter value for a non-emergency call, and re-attempting the random access procedure for the emergency call via the mobile device as a function of the reduced back off parameter value.

Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a system and method of managing the use of power in a computing system including for example a wearable computer such as a smart watch. The computing device may include a policy agent implementing one or more stored power management policies relating to download parameters for photos or other content based in part on remaining battery life in the computing device. The stored policies indicate the size reduction for image or media files to be downloaded to the computing device.
