    Abstract: A transmission with a common carrier planetary gear set is provided for a vehicle that has drive axle half shafts defining an axis of rotation, an electric motor/generator with a motor shaft parallel with the axis of rotation, either concentric with the axis of rotation or spaced therefrom, and a differential with a differential carrier connected with the drive axle half shafts. The planetary gear set has a first sun gear member continuously or selectively connectable with the motor shaft, first and second pinion gears, a carrier member rotatably supporting the first and the second pinion gears so that the first pinion gear meshes with the first sun gear member, and a ring gear member meshing with one of the pinion gears. The ring gear is connectable to a non-rotating housing. The carrier member is operatively connected with the differential carrier.

    Abstract: A chain drive power take off assembly drives a hydraulic fluid pump from a torque converter input of a motor vehicle. The assembly includes a first, chain drive sprocket which is coupled to and driven by a engine output/torque converter input member such as an engine crankshaft or transmission input member, a chain and a second, driven chain sprocket which is coupled to a stub shaft and which, in turn, is coupled to an input shaft of the hydraulic pump.     Abstract: A transmission includes a housing, an input shaft, a transfer shaft, a first and second transfer members, a continuous transfer member, a drive shaft, and a torque transmitting mechanism.     Abstract: A propulsion system for a motor vehicle includes a casing having first and second housing portions cooperating with one another to define a cavity. The propulsion system further includes an electric motor disposed within the cavity. A support mechanism is attached to at least one of the first and second housing portions. The support mechanism includes a first side that faces the first housing portion and a second side that faces the second housing portion and is disposed within the cavity. Bearing seats are formed in the first housing portion, the second housing portion, and the second side of the support mechanism. Bearings are engaged with an associated one of the bearing seats and are configured to rotatably support the input member, the layshaft, and the output member in a fixed-free bearing arrangement. The first side of the support mechanism is free of the bearing seats and the bearings.
