Abstract:
A vehicle system includes an electric motor, an internal combustion engine, and a heating system configured to transfer heat from the internal combustion engine to a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The system includes a controller configured to operate the electric motor and the internal combustion engine according to one of a plurality of drive cycle profiles. The controller selects the drive cycle profile based on an ambient temperature. The drive cycle profiles include a first drive cycle profile that commands power from the electric motor until the battery system reaches a predetermined state of charge and subsequently commands power from the internal combustion engine and a second drive cycle profile that commands power from the internal combustion engine and subsequently commands power from the electric motor.
Abstract:
A system for, and method of, providing e-assist on a route. A determination may be made of whether terrain data for the route is available. A rider effort level may be determined. The terrain data may be read when available. Whether a change in slope has occurred, or is anticipated to occur, corresponding to a need for an additional input to the rider effort level may be determined. The e-assist level may be adjusted to provide a level that offsets the need for the additional input, or the rider may be informed to provide an increased effort level.
Abstract:
A system or method capable of using automobile camera system data to generate biometric information for the use in identifying authorized drivers and customizing and controlling automobile components. The system is versatile enough to distinguish between a new or unauthorized person in the automobile and respond accordingly.
Abstract:
Computer-implemented methods, systems and apparatus are disclosed for providing notification at an automotive head unit (AHU) of a vehicle that a pre-paired consumer electronics device (CED), such as a wireless communication device, is outside a vehicle. When it is determined that the pre-paired CED is not connected to a wireless communication interface of the AHU, a notification can be provided to the AHU indicating that the pre-paired CED is not connected. Positional data from a location message, provided from the pre-paired CED, can then be processed to generate location data and provide the location data to the AHU.
Abstract:
Computer-implemented methods, systems and apparatus are disclosed for providing notification at a vehicle that a pre-paired consumer electronics device (CED) has been left inside the vehicle. The vehicle includes a processor and a vehicular system controllable via the processor. The processor can receive an alert signal that indicates that a pre-paired CED has been left inside the vehicle during a time period after a trigger event has occurred. The processor is further configured to control activation of the vehicular system, in response to receiving the alert signal, to cause the vehicular system to generate another signal that is perceptible outside the vehicle to indicate that the pre-paired CED has been left inside the vehicle.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided to allow for reliable consumption of GPS and Map information into a Control System, for such uses as improving off cycle fuel economy in a plug in hybrid vehicle with an electric motor, and an internal combustion engine using a global position system (GPS) is provided. The system comprises a global position system (GPS), a clock, and a processor containing a function executing therein that controls the internal combustion engine based on a GPS fix and its Accuracy Information (VDOP/HDOP/Satellite Quantity).
Abstract:
A method may include determining whether a sweat sensor is available. E-assist may be provided when a sweat sensor is not available by determining a sweat threshold and determining whether the sweat threshold is surpassed.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for managing a user profile of a vehicle. In one embodiment, a method comprises: generating data for displaying a selection screen of a graphical user interface in the vehicle; receiving profile personalization data based on a user interacting with the selection screen; creating a user profile based on the profile personalization data; and storing the user profile in a user profile datastore of the vehicle.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for communicating navigation information to a user. In one embodiment, a method includes determining a trip that is performed by a vehicle; determining a time and a route associated with the trip; and sending the time and the route associated with the trip from the vehicle to a wireless electronic device.
Abstract:
Computer-implemented methods, systems and apparatus are disclosed for providing a notification when a vehicle has been accessed by an unauthorized person. An onboard computer system of a vehicle is activated in response to a trigger event indicating that the vehicle has been accessed. It is determined whether an authorized consumer electronics device (CED), that is associated with an authorized person, is connected to a wireless communication interface of an onboard computer system. When an authorized CED has not connected to the wireless communication interface, a notification message is communicated that indicates that the vehicle has been accessed and that an authorized CED has not connected to the wireless communication interface.
