Abstract: A system for providing warning to an occupant within a vehicle prior to the occupant exiting the vehicle includes a plurality of onboard sensors adapted to collect information related to an environment outside the vehicle, an occupant monitoring system adapted to monitor and detect movement of the occupant within the vehicle, a display screen adapted to be viewed by the occupant within the vehicle, a system controller adapted to detect when the occupant within the vehicle is about to exit the vehicle, detect a position of the occupant within the vehicle, display, on the display screen, a view of an environment outside of the vehicle, determine if there is a hazardous object within the environment outside of the vehicle, and classify the hazardous object, and provide augmented reality alerts within the display screen.

Abstract: A method is designed to provide platooning information using a multi-focal plane augmented reality display of a host vehicle. The method includes receiving platooning data from at least one of a plurality of remote vehicles. Each of the plurality of remote vehicle is part of a platoon. The platooning data includes locations, trajectories, and headways of each of the plurality of remote vehicles. The method further includes determining whether the platoon is within a predetermined distance from the host vehicle using the platooning data. Further, the method includes transmitting a command signal to the multi-focal plane augmented reality display of the host vehicle to display a virtual image on the multi-focal plane augmented reality display. The virtual image is indicative of a platooning action related to the platoon that is within the predetermined distance from the host vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a system for generating, monitoring, and correcting an alert for an occupant of the vehicle. The system further includes multiple on-board input devices for generating a visual alert signal, an audio alert signal, and a haptic alert signal for an associated one of the visual notification, the audio notification, and the haptic notification received from notification devices. The system further includes a computer having one or more processors and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium (CRM) storing instructions. The processor is programmed to determine a priority level of the alert, compare the priority level to a predetermined priority level threshold, and generate a reporting activation signal in response to the processor determining that the priority level is below the predetermined priority level threshold. The notification devices generates in real-time an error notification to indicate to the occupant that the notification characteristic is below the predetermined quality threshold.
