Abstract:
Methods for automatically re-establishing a wireless telephone call following a disruption of a wireless communication link are disclosed. A representative embodiment of the present invention may detect when a telephone call via a wireless communication network has been unintentionally ended, and may automatically re-establish the call when a characteristic of the wireless communication link meets a predetermined condition. A user may be notified that the lost call is about to be re-established, to enable the user to inhibit the re-establishment if the call is no longer desired. A user may also set one or more parameters to permit them to adjust the operation of the re-establishment mechanism to meet their needs.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for exchange of travel data in a roadway information system associated with a first roadway vehicle and a second roadway vehicle. In one embodiment, the roadway information system may comprise, for example, a first mobile client system associated with the first roadway vehicle, a second mobile client system associated with the second roadway vehicle, a wireless communication network, and a processing system communicatively coupled to the wireless communication network. The first mobile client system may deliver first travel related data to the processing system via the wireless communication network. The processing system may deliver second travel related data to the second mobile client system via the wireless communication network, where the second travel related data relates at least in part to the first travel related data.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for estimation of roadway travel information based on historical travel data are disclosed. In one embodiment, a system for estimating travel conditions may comprise, for example, a communication network; an automobile navigation system communicatively coupled to the communication network, the automobile navigation system for specifying a future travel information for travel along the desired route on the desired date; and a processor communicatively coupled to the communication network, the processor estimating travel conditions associated with the desired route on the desired date, and the processor performing said estimation by correlating the future travel information with historical travel information.
Abstract:
A system for operating a wireless mobile device that automatically re-establishes a telephone call after unintended disconnection is disclosed and may include at least one processor operable to wirelessly receive, via a communication network, a first telephone call having associated information identifying a calling party. The at least one processor may be operable to determine whether the calling party or the wireless mobile device is to establish a second telephone call between the calling party and the wireless mobile device upon failure of the first telephone call. The at least one processor may be operable to store the information identifying the calling party of the first telephone call, and to detect a failure of the first telephone call. The at least one processor may be operable to determine whether call re-establishment should be attempted, based upon one or more pre-determined factors.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for information filtering in a roadway travel data exchange network are disclosed. In one embodiment, a travel data processing system may comprise, for example, a communication network. A mobile device may be communicatively coupled to the communication network. A collection system may collect first travel data, where the first travel data may comprise second travel data that is relevant to the mobile device. A filter system may analyze the first travel data to control the flow of at least a portion of the second travel data. A filter device may be communicatively coupled to the communication network and the filter device may comprise at least a portion of the filter system. The mobile device may comprise at least a portion of the filter system.

Systems and methods for traffic management in a roadway travel data exchange network are disclosed. In one embodiment, a traffic management system may comprise, for example, a first mobile traffic participant communicatively coupled to a communication network, a second mobile traffic participant communicatively coupled to the communication network, and at least one traffic control system communicatively coupled to the communication network. The traffic control system may receive travel data associated with the first mobile traffic participant, and may generate a first traffic control instruction based on the received travel data. The first traffic control instruction may be associated with the second mobile traffic participant. The first traffic control instruction may comprise routing information for the second mobile traffic participant.
