摘要: Methods for characterizing fluids from a patient. A time series of images of a conduit are received, and a conduit image region in the images is identified. A flow type of the fluids passing through the conduit may be classified as one of air, laminar liquid, and turbulent liquid by evaluating an air-liquid boundary of the fluid. A volumetric flow rate of the fluids in the conduit is estimated. The volumetric flow rate may be based on the classified flow type. A concentration of a blood component of the fluids passing through the conduit may be estimated based on the images. A proportion of the fluid that is blood may also be determined, and a volume of blood that has passed through the conduit within a predetermined period of time may be estimated based on the estimated total volumetric flow rate and the determined proportion.

摘要: A method for estimating extracorporeal blood volume in at least a portion of a fluid canister. A light source may be activated, and an image of the fluid canister is captured with an optical sensor. The image may be a color frame of a video stream. A color-related feature is extracted from at least a portion of the image. A concentration of hemoglobin is estimated based on the extracted color-related feature. A fluid level of fluid within the fluid canister may be estimated from the image. Extracorporeal blood volume based on the estimated concentration of hemoglobin and a fluid volume or the estimated fluid level. The estimated extracorporeal blood volume is displayed on a display. The estimated extracorporeal blood volume and the estimated fluid level may be monitored over time. The optical sensor may be disposed on a handheld mobile device mounted to a side of the fluid canister.

摘要: A system performs a method for processing an image of a machine-readable code. The method includes receiving an image of a machine-readable code comprising coded information, where the machine-readable code is at least partially obscured. An adjusted image is generated by adjusting a color space of the image. At least a machine-readable code region of the image is binarized, wherein the machine-readable code region of the image depicts the machine-readable code. The binarized machine-readable code region is decoded to determine the coded information. Other apparatus and methods are also described.

摘要: A computer-implemented method for quantifying fluid includes estimating a first volume of a first fluid contained in an item based on a difference between a dry weight and a wet weight of the item, and displaying a graphical representation of a container containing a volume of a second fluid and a second volume of the first fluid, wherein the graphical representation includes a first display element for receiving a first user input indicating the volume of the second fluid in the container, and a second display element for receiving a second user input indicating a total fluid volume in the container, estimating the second volume of the first fluid based on at least one of the first and second user inputs, and estimating a quantity of the first fluid based on the first and second volumes of the first fluid.

摘要: A method and system for communicating estimated blood loss parameters of a patient to a user, the method comprising: receiving data representative of an image, of a fluid receiver; automatically detecting a region within the image associated with a volume of fluid received at the fluid receiver, the volume of fluid including a blood component; calculating an estimated amount of the blood component present in the volume of fluid based upon a color parameter represented in the region, and determining a bias error associated with the estimated amount of the blood component; updating an analysis of an aggregate amount of the blood component and an aggregate bias error associated with blood loss of the patient, based upon the estimated amount of the blood component and the bias error; and providing information from the analysis of the aggregate amount of the blood component and the aggregate bias error, to the user.
