摘要: A method for estimating extracorporeal blood volume in at least a portion of a fluid canister. A light source may be activated, and an image of the fluid canister is captured with an optical sensor. The image may be a color frame of a video stream. A color-related feature is extracted from at least a portion of the image. A concentration of hemoglobin is estimated based on the extracted color-related feature. A fluid level of fluid within the fluid canister may be estimated from the image. Extracorporeal blood volume based on the estimated concentration of hemoglobin and a fluid volume or the estimated fluid level. The estimated extracorporeal blood volume is displayed on a display. The estimated extracorporeal blood volume and the estimated fluid level may be monitored over time. The optical sensor may be disposed on a handheld mobile device mounted to a side of the fluid canister.

摘要: Described herein are example methods and example systems for providing guidance to a user during a medical procedure. The example methods may be performed by one or more processors and may include estimating a blood loss of a patient, determining a current patient stage of a blood loss protocol based on the estimated patient blood loss, and providing guidance to a user based on the current patient stage of the blood loss protocol. The blood loss protocol may include a plurality of stages, and each stage may include one or more elements. Providing guidance to a user may include selecting one or more elements from the current patient stage of the blood loss protocol.

摘要: A computer-implemented method for quantifying fluid includes estimating a first volume of a first fluid contained in an item based on a difference between a dry weight and a wet weight of the item, and displaying a graphical representation of a container containing a volume of a second fluid and a second volume of the first fluid, wherein the graphical representation includes a first display element for receiving a first user input indicating the volume of the second fluid in the container, and a second display element for receiving a second user input indicating a total fluid volume in the container, estimating the second volume of the first fluid based on at least one of the first and second user inputs, and estimating a quantity of the first fluid based on the first and second volumes of the first fluid.

摘要: Methods and systems for characterizing fluids from a patient are disclosed. The method includes receiving a time series of images of a conduit receiving fluids from the patient, identifying a conduit image region in each of the images, classifying a flow type through the conduit based on an evaluation of the conduit image region in the time series of images, and estimating at least one of a volume of fluids and a quantity of a blood component that has passed through the conduit within a predetermined period of time, based at least in part on the classification of the flow type.
