Abstract:
A continuous variable transmission belt, comprising an annular continuous band comprising a body reinforced by a longitudinal armature and a plurality of friction plugs connected by coupling of shape with at least one of either an outer spine of the continuous band or an inner surface opposite to the outer spine with respect to the armature, the friction plugs comprising respectively a friction member adapted to cooperate with a pulley of the transmission and a connection member cooperating with the friction member to rigidly connect the friction plug to the continuous band. Each of the connecting members is made of a material having a higher thermal conductivity than that of the friction members and presents an abutting surface against either of the outer spine or the inner surface.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the disposal of bauxite processing wastes comprising the steps of:(a) filtering the bauxite muds in suspension coming from the washing decanter,(b) continuously washing the dehydrated filtration cake on the filter with hot water with recycling of the liquid phase containing the greater part of the soda into the basic chemical process of the bauxite treating plant.(c) treating the mud cake separated from the filter with sea water to refluidizing the muds and to neutralize the soda residues still present; and(d) conveying the inert and neutralized mud suspension, mixed with sand residual from bauxite processing in filling basins; the invention relates also to a containment basin for the exhausted bauxites obtained with the process constituted of several basin units, singularly comprising a trapezoidal cross-sectioned containment structure or embankment, elevated above sea level, with inner core of permeable sand, lined with "tout-venant" broken rocky material, contained on the outside by large dimension boulders, on the upper part of which is placed the distribution piping of the muds, with introduction of these latter in the basin unit in several different points and provided with a drainage layer on the base.
Abstract:
A compressible container (200) has a cap (100) configured to engage therewith. The cap (100) includes a first valve (150), preferably in the form of first and second disks (112,120), one above another, each disk having at least one hole (113,122) therethrough. The disks are rotatable with respect to one another The holes (113,122) of the first and second disks (112,120) align in a first position to create channel therethrough and misalign in the second position to close the channel. The cap (100) may also include a second valve (130) connected to the channel. The second valve (130) may comprise a ball (134) inside a conic section tube (132). The ball (134) is designed to float on the liquid (300) so that any liquid (300) attempting to exit the container cap (100) will be prevented from doing so as the second valve (130) will be closed when the liquid forces the ball (134) into engagement with the conic section tube (132).
