    Abstract: An aspirator includes a duct having a wall with a surface bounding a converging portion and a diverging portion of the duct. The converging portion of the duct has an inlet and the diverging portion of the duct has an outlet, the inlet being in fluid communication with the outlet through the converging portion and the diverging portion of the duct. The surface of the duct wall includes a conformal surface portion extending between the inlet of the duct and the outlet of the duct that is conformal with an aspirator seat surface portion of a support structure to conform the duct to the support structure. Evacuation assemblies are also described.

    Abstract: A cargo restraint that accommodates restraining ULDs having a distorted or elevated retention base is disclosed (e.g., a retention base that is spaced above a conveyor plane, for instance coinciding with a cargo deck). An outer pawl includes at least one pivot that is maintained in a fixed location on the outer pawl, and that is movable along a slot to change the elevation of the pivot (and the elevation of a restraining head of the outer pawl when in an erected position). Movement of the pivot along the slot first allows the restraining head of the outer pawl to be positioned above a retention base of a ULD, including when the retention base is at an elevated position. Further movement of the pivot along the slot allows the restraining head of the outer pawl to engage and move the retention base of the ULD toward/to the conveyor plane.

    Abstract: A caster roller assembly may comprise a base, a roller rotationally coupled to the base, and a thrust bearing assembly adjacent to an underside surface of the base. The thrust bearing assembly may include a bearing cup, a plurality of thrust rollers located in a channel defined by the bearing cup, and a top plate located between plurality of thrust rollers and the base. An inner circumferential surface of the top plate may define an opening configured to receive a protrusion extending from the underside surface of the base.

    Abstract: A cargo handling system (CHS) is provided and includes a guide tray along which an electric rail extends and a carrier movably disposable within the guide tray. The carrier includes a carrier surface, guide and contact rollers for establishing electric communication with the electric rail with the carrier movably disposed within the guide tray, drivable elements to assume retracted or extended positions at which, with the carrier movably disposed within the guide tray, the carrier surface is deployed within or above the guide tray, respectively; and a control system. The control system is configured to draw current from the electric communication between the electric rail and the contact roller and to use the current to operate the drivable elements to move the carrier along the guide tray and to control extension and retraction of the drivable elements.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a packing system for a slide of an aircraft evacuation system, the packing system having: a rigid packboard having a first side end and a second side end that opposes the first side end; a first valise flap having a first outer end and a first inner end, the first outer end connected to the first side end of the rigid packboard; a second valise flap having a second outer end and a second inner end, the second outer end connected to the second side end of the rigid packboard; and lacing for tying together the first inner end of the first valise flap and the second inner end of the second valise flap, wherein the first valise flap and the second valise flap are formed of a heat shrink material.
