Abstract: A spray gun includes a gun body and a handle removably connected to the gun body. A filter is disposed in the handle for filtering particulate from the spray fluid. A trigger guard is connected to the handle and gun body and includes a contour on a lower portion of the trigger guard for receiving one or more fingers of the user that are not interfacing with and contacting the trigger. The trigger guard can be disconnected from the gun body and rotated relative to the handle. The trigger guard can contact a portion of the handle and exert torque on the handle to connect the handle to and disconnect the handle from the gun body. The portion of the handle at least partially covers a fitting connecting to the handle to provide spray fluid to the spray gun.

Abstract: A battery powered fluid sprayer includes a shelter that the battery is mounted in to provide power to the electric components of the sprayer. The shelter protects the battery from falling fluid droplets. The shelter extends above the battery and projects outward laterally and longitudinally to protect the battery. Abstract: A high-pressure low-volume spray system includes a hose disposed between a compressor and a spray gun. The hose acts as an accumulator when the spray gun is deactivated. A check valve is disposed in a fitting connecting the hose to the compressor. The check valve includes a spring that applies a nonlinear force to a downstream end of a valve member, such that the valve member tips open in response to the pressure differential, providing a variable flowpath opening through the check valve.

Abstract: A piston rod assembly includes a piston rod having a first end configured to contact fluid, a packing retainer through which the piston rod extends, and one or more packing rings. The packing retainer includes one or more leakage ports forming passageways between an inner surface and an outer surface of the packing retainer. The one or more packing rings surround the piston rod, are adjacent the inner surface of the packing retainer, and are positioned between the one or more leakage ports and a bottom end of the packing retainer. The one or more leakage ports are positioned so that fluid that leaks past the one or more packing rings will flow through the one or more leakage ports.
