摘要: Connectors for joining adjacent modular floor covering units. The connectors include a film and an adhesive layer coated on one side of the film. To install tiles using the connectors, a first tile is placed on the floor and a connector is positioned so that the adhesive layer faces upward and does not contact the floor. The connector is typically positioned so that only a portion of the adhesive layer adheres to the underside of the tile, leaving the remainder of the connector extending from the underside of the tile. Tiles are then positioned adjacent the first tile so that a portion of the connector adheres to the adjacent tiles. In this way, the connectors span adjacent tile edges. The tiles are assembled on a underlying flooring surface without the need to attach them to the floor surface. Rather, the tiles are linked to each other with the connectors, so that the tiles create a floor covering that “floats” on the under lying floor surface.

摘要: Modular flooring systems and methods using at least one free-lay support module. The free-lay support module includes a baseplate and a frame member having a first arm and a second arm that meet and form an angle. Replaceable wear surface modules with or without a backing structure fit within the baseplate. The top of frame partially overlays the replaceable wear surface modules that my be carpet, carpet tile, vinyl flooring, wood flooring, wood parquet flooring or a variety of other materials. In still another embodiment, this invention provides for a free-lay support module that is self-contouring or self-leveling. In yet another embodiment this invention provides a replaceable wear surface modular flooring structure utilizing floor grid members having a “horizontal arm” and a “vertical arm”, each of which are in the form of an open U-shaped channel. A trim member has a decorative upper surface and any of a variety of cross-sectional shapes with downward facing members that engage the floor grid members providing a decorative and protective cap on the top of such grid members. In still another embodiment, power systems, communications systems, and/or cable systems reside within the channels.

摘要: The present invention provides a technology called Pulse-Multiline Excitation or PME. This technology provides a novel approach to fluorescence detection with application for high-throughput identification of informative SNPs, which could lead to more accurate diagnosis of inherited disease, better prognosis of risk susceptibilities, or identification of sporadic mutations. The PME technology has two main advantages that significantly increase fluorescence sensitivity: (1) optimal excitation of all fluorophores in the genomic assay and (2) “color-blind” detection, which collects considerably more light than standard wavelength resolved detection. This technology differs significantly from the current state-of-the-art DNA sequencing instrumentation, which features single source excitation and color dispersion for DNA sequence identification. Successful implementation of the PME technology will have broad application for routine usage in clinical diagnostics, forensics, and general sequencing methodologies and will have the capability, flexibility, and portability of targeted sequence variation assays for a large majority of the population.

摘要: A hydrostatic transmission for a vehicle, such as a commercial walk-behind mower, comprises a fixed displacement pump, first and second reversible hydraulic motors for driving first and second ground engageable wheels, respectively, of the vehicle, and first and second spool valves for controlling hydraulic fluid flow from the fixed displacement hydraulic pump to the first and second hydraulic motors, respectively. The transmission may have a further fixed displacement hydraulic pump arranged in tandem with the first mentioned pump, a fluid pressure operated device and a third spool valve movable between a first position in which hydraulic fluid from the further pump is supplied to the pressure operated device and a second position in which hydraulic fluid from the further pump is supplied to the first and second spool valves to supplement hydraulic fluid from the first mentioned hydraulic pump.

摘要: A chemical anchor cartridge for fixing a bar or rock bolt in a drillhole has a destructible outer envelope and includes first and second longitudinal compartments for containing respective components of an adhesive. Each end of the cartridge is adapted to be secured to a respective mating end of another cartridge so as to enable the cartridge to be assembled in end-to-end relationship outside the drillhole.
