摘要: Fluoroacrylates comprise the reaction product of: (a) at least one fluorochemical alcohol represented by the formula: CnF2n+1—X—OH wherein: R=hydrogen or an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, m=2 to 8, Rf=CnF2n+1, y=0 to 6, and q=1 to 8; (b) at least one unbranched symmetric diisocyanate; and (c) at least one hydroxy-terminated alkyl (meth)acrylate or 2-fluoro acrylate monomer having 2 to about 30 carbon atoms in its alkylene portion.

摘要: A fluorochemical compound comprises the reaction product of: (a) the reaction product of: (i) at least one fluorochemical alcohol represented by the formula: CnF2n+1—X—OH wherein: n=1 to 6, R=hydrogen or an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, m=2 to 8, Rf=CnF2n+1, y=0 to 6, q=1 to 8; and (ii) at least one unbranched symmetric diisocyanate, and (b) at least one co-reactant comprising two or more functional groups that are capable of reacting with an isocyanate group.

摘要: A process for preparing fluorochemical monoisocyanates comprises reacting at least one fluorochemical alcohol represented by the formula CnF2n+1SO2NCH3(CH2)mOH, wherein n=2 to 5, and m=2 to 4, with 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) in a solvent in which the resulting fluorochemical monoisocyanate is not soluble; wherein the molar ratio of fluorochemical alcohol:MDI is from about 1:1 to about 1:2.5.

摘要: A hard coating composition for use as a stain repellent single layer on an optical display. The coating composition adds a monomer of a mono or multi(methyl)acrylate bearing at least one monovalent hexafluoropolypropylene oxide derivative and a free radically reactive compatibilizer consisting of either a fluoroalkyl-group containing acrylate compatibilizer or a fluoroalkylene-group containing acrylate compatibilizer to a conventional hydrocarbon-based hard coat formulation. The resultant coating is substantially smooth and forms a durable surface layer that has low surface energy that is stain and ink repellent.
