    摘要: Disclosed is a method of a mobile communication device, a device and a method of a server for updating the prepaid balance during the active mode of the mobile communication device. The method of the device includes storing in memory a stored prepaid balance prior to initiating a wireless communication via a service provider, initiating an active mode wireless communication and transmitting, during the active mode wireless communication, at least one balance query to the service provider. The method further provides receiving, during the active mode wireless communication, a response to the balance query, determining if the response to the balance query is valid and processing the response to the balance query to obtain a new prepaid balance if the response to the balance query is valid.

    摘要: Voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) gain tracking is used for programming modulation gain settings to minimize modulation distortion in a phase locked loop of a mobile station (10). A synthesizer (20) generates a tuning voltage (Vt) for controlling a frequency of a (VCO) modulated radio frequency signal. A controller (22) outputs a modulation data signal and includes an ADC (72) for receiving the tuning voltage from the synthesizer (20) on a VCO feedback loop (70), a gain control lookup table (LUT) (76) for storing gain setting calibration data for respective mobile station sub-bands, and a gain setting (DAC) (78) for outputting a modulation gain control signal to the synthesizer (20). The modulation gain setting calibration data is calibrated using a one-time or continuous calibration methodlogy during, respectively, a background or normal mode of operation.

    摘要: A frequency synthesizer having a frequency divider and a frequency multiplier in the feedback loop is disclosed. The minimum frequency separation between two adjacent synthesized channels is equal to the reference frequency divided by the multiplication ratio of the multiplier. The division ratio of the frequency divider, which can be analyzed as the sum of an integer and a fractional portion, is varied with time by a digital sequence, resulting in a minimum frequency increment equal to a fraction of the reference frequency. The multiplier acts to reduce the nonlinearities of the frequency synthesizer when the fractional portion of the division ratio causes a large variation in the instantaneous division ratio by reducing the effective division ratio of the loop.

    摘要: Disclosed is a wireless communication device and method for ringback control, the device capable of receiving an incoming call, the device having a timing circuit configured to determine a delay for a predetermined period of time for ringtone generation at a calling party device. A device with a single transducer may increase the volume of a ringtone or other alerts. The delay may correspond to the increased volume. In one embodiment, the delay of the ringtone generation at the calling party is provided by delaying the transmission of the acknowledgment alerting signal by the wireless communication device until after the predetermined period of the delay. In another embodiment, the alerting signal includes a delay parameter so that the wireless infrastructure delays signaling a ringtone to the calling party device. In another embodiment, the alerting signal includes a delay parameter so that the calling party device delays the activation of a ringtone.
