The cylinder head may include an intake port, defining an inlet in fluid communication with an air source and an outlet in fluid communication with the cylinder bore. The valve seat may be defined at the outlet of the intake port and may include a stepped region. The stepped region may define a seating surface extending radially outward from the intake port. The seating surface may include a series of protrusions circumferentially spaced from one another around the outlet and forming a series of recesses therebetween. The valve seat insert may be located within the stepped region and may include a first axial end surface abutting the protrusions on the seating surface.

The diode includes a fusion which comprises a body of semiconductor material having a PN junction therein and metal electrodes affixed to opposed major surfaces of the semiconductor body. The fusion is encircled by an annular-shaped glass member with an inner surface of the annular-shaped glass member fused to an edge surface of the fusion to form a protective layer over the PN junction.     摘要: A glass disc-shaped thyristor is disclosed. The thyristor comprises a body of semiconductive material having a first emitter region, a first base region, a second base region and a second emitter region therein. A cathode electrode and a gate electrode are affixed to one major surface, and an anode electrode is affixed to the second major surface of the body of semiconductor material. The cathode electrode is disc-shaped and is concentrically positioned with respect to the annular-shaped gate electrode. A ring-shaped glass member is affixed to a first major surface of the body of semiconductive material and to the edges of the cathode and base electrodes to form a seal protecting a PN junction at the interface of the first emitter and base regions. An anode electrode is affixed to the second major surface of the body of semiconductive material. A second annular shaped glass member is affixed to the edge of the body of semiconductive material to form a seal protecting PN junctions formed at the interface of the first and second base regions and at the interface of the second base region with the second emitter region. The first and second ring-shaped glass members are formed by fusing glass preforms in an atmosphere comprising a predetermined mixture of nitrogen and water vapor to cause the glass preforms to soften and fuse to the surfaces of the body of semiconductive material to form a protective seals.

    摘要: A grain loss monitor for a combine harvester derives a grain loss rate signal in accordance with the number of grains impinging on a transducer and a ground speed signal proportional to the ground speed of the combine and divides the former by the latter to derive an analog of grain loss per unit area which is independent of time. The preferred embodiment includes a one-shot multivibrator which is triggered to its unstable state to generate a fixed width pulse each time a grain kernel strikes the transducer, a tachometer coupled to the combine wheels and a period timed integrator triggered by tachometer pulses for deriving a unidirectional ground speed voltage inversely proportional to frequency of the tachometer pulses, a pulse frequency modulation chopper circuit turned on and off by the fixed width one-shot pulses and having its peak voltage controlled by the unidirectional ground speed signal for accomplishing division of grain loss rate by combine ground speed, and an averaging circuit for determining the average voltage of the chopper output pulses as an analog of grain loss per unit area.
