    摘要: Provided is an engine combustion chamber structure. Also provided is an inner wall structure for a through channel, through which exhaust gas or intake gas of the engine passes. An engine combustion engine structure is provided with a heat-insulating member on the inner wall of an engine constituent member which constitutes an engine combustion chamber, the heat-insulating member containing a heat-insulating porous layer formed from ceramics, and a surface dense layer formed on the surface of the heat-insulating porous layer and formed from ceramics. The surface dense layer of the heat-insulating member has an open porosity of 5% or less, and preferably the heat-insulating porous layer has a larger open porosity than the open porosity of the surface dense layer.

    摘要: This invention relates to a reciprocating internal combustion engine having a cylinder crankcase with a cylinder head with is designed to reduce the manufacturing and spare parts cost. A single design unified cylinder head is employed for liquid cooling and air cooling, the cylinder head having both cooling spaces for the liquid coolant and cooling fins for the cooling air. Coolant passageways in the cylinder head are connected to coolant spaces in the cylinder block portion of the cylinder crankcase by way of openings in the upper end of the cylinder block and openings in the cylinder head gasket which permit flow of coolant to the annuli in the cylinder head. In addition to the annuli, the coolant passageways in the cylinder head include a longitudinally extending header, horizontally extending web ducts extending radially inward from the annuli and vertically extending connecting conduits inclined relative to the cylinder axes interconnecting the web ducts and the header. Each connecting conduit extends through a pillar extending between the cover plate portion and the base portion of the cylinder head. The pillars are in the wind shadow of, and in a substantially parallel relationship to, injection nozzles installed in the cylinder head.

    摘要: A light metal cylinder head, for a valve controlled internal combustion engine, which has at least one metal insert in that bottom region located between the valves, and has a bore in the combustion chamber bottom region for an injection nozzle or a shot or filling passage and/or an ignition aid. A crack or fissure hindering or precluding oxide layer is coated, covered, or applied at least to the bottom region located between the valves, including the bore region, and the metal insert is made of a material resistant with respect to the method of producing the oxide layer. The oxide layer comprises aluminum oxide and is applied by anodic oxidation. The metal insert may comprise titanium. The oxide layer may have a thickness of at least 50 .mu.m.
