    Abstract: An electric machine includes a stator winding in a stator having a winding end. A jumper has a main base end that is connected to the winding end. A first terminal branch of the jumper has a first terminal for connecting the stator electrically to a first load. A second terminal branch of the jumper has a second terminal for connecting the stator electrically to a second load. A first electrical conduction path is defined from the winding end, through the jumper to the first terminal branch to the first terminal. A second electrical conduction path is defined from the winding end, through the jumper to the second terminal branch to the second terminal. The first electrical conduction path has an electrical resistance substantially equal to that of the second electrical conduction path for electrical load balancing from the winding end to the first and second terminals.

    Abstract: A system includes a permanent magnet generator (PMG) with a generator shaft defining a longitudinal axis. A brake system includes a brake shaft with a first end operatively connected to the generator shaft for selectively rotating with the generator shaft or braking to slow the generator shaft. The brake system includes a band with a first position radially withdrawn from the brake shaft, and a second position radially pressed against the brake shaft for applying braking forces to the brake shaft and to the generator shaft. The brake system includes an actuator operatively connected to the band to actuate the band from the first position to the second position.

    Abstract: A torsion shaft assembly includes a torque carrying shaft including a driven end configured for receiving torque input to the torque carrying shaft and a driving end configured for outputting torque output from the toque carrying shaft. The torque carrying shaft includes an axial facing damping interface surface axially between the driven end and the driving end. A friction tube is disposed outboard of the torque carrying shaft. The friction tube is connected at a first axial location to be driven by the torque carrying shaft. The friction tube includes an axial facing damping interface surface that abuts the axial facing damping interface surface of the torque carrying shaft, forming a damping interface to provide frictional dampening against angular vibrations occurring as differential angular displacement between the driven end and the driving end of the torque carrying shaft.

    Abstract: Tail cone assemblies for gas turbine engines are described. The tail cone assemblies include a generator housing having an electrical connector, the generator housing defining a longitudinal axis. A first casing is arranged radially outward from the generator housing relative to the longitudinal axis and a second casing arranged radially outward from the first casing relative to the longitudinal axis. A hollow strut extends radially between the first casing and the second casing and defining an interior cavity, the hollow strut located circumferentially relative to the longitudinal axis at a location radially aligned with the electrical connector of the generator housing. An electrical conductor is arranged within the interior cavity of the hollow strut and an adapter is configured to electrically connect the electrical conductor with the electrical conductor.
