Abstract: A non-limiting example method for control of fluid ejection from a microfluidic device includes firing a microfluidic ejector of a microfluidic device to expel a fluid from a channel of the microfluidic device. In response to detecting an instance of signal change from an impedance sensor disposed in the channel, the method includes controlling fluid ejection from the microfluidic ejector and capturing an image of the channel with an imaging apparatus. Using the captured image, a determination is made as to whether passage of a cell into the channel is associated with the instance of signal change from the impedance sensor. Based on the determination, the microfluidic ejector may fire to dispense the fluid from the channel into a reservoir.

Abstract: A system and a method for the batch sorting of particles are provided. An example of a batch sorting system includes a microfluidic ejector, a flow channel fluidically coupled to the microfluidic ejector at one end, and a reservoir coupled to an opposite end of the flow channel from the microfluidic ejector. A counter is disposed in the flow channel upstream of the microfluidic ejector to count particles prior to ejection from the microfluidic ejector. An optical sensor is to image the flow channel. A controller is configured to locate a target particle in the flow channel based, at least in part, on the image and capture the target particle in a collection vessel based, at least in part, on a count from the counter.

Abstract: A deep learning method employs a neural network having three sub-nets to classify and retrieve the most similar 3D model of an object, given a rough 3D model or scanned images. The most similar 3D model is present in a database and can be retrieved to use directly or as a reference to redesign the 3D model. The three sub-nets of the neural network include one dealing with object images and the other two dealing with voxel representations. Majority vote is used instead of view pooling to classify the object. A feature map and a list of top N most similar well-designed 3D models are also provided.

Abstract: A three-dimensional volume modeling method may include rotating a three-dimensional biological object having a translucent outer surface to different angular positions, capturing different two-dimensional images of the three-dimensional biological object, each of the different two-dimensional images being at a different angular position, and modeling an exterior of the three-dimensional biological object based upon the different two-dimensional images. The method may further involve identifying a point of an internal structure of the three-dimensional biological object each of the two-dimensional images and modeling the internal structure of the three-dimensional biological object in three-dimensional space relative to the exterior of the three-dimensional biological object by triangulating the point amongst the different two-dimensional images using a three-dimensional volumetric template of the three-dimensional biological object.
