摘要: The present invention relates to a cooling device and a control method therefor. This cooling device includes: a first cooling liquid line routed by way of a cylinder head and a radiator; a second cooling liquid line routed by way of a cylinder block while bypassing the radiator; a third cooling liquid line routed by way of the cylinder head and a heater core while bypassing the radiator; a flow rate control valve for distributing cooling water to the cooling liquid lines; and mechanical and electric water pumps. A control unit controls the flow rate control valve according to the temperatures of the cylinder head and block, during engine operation, and causes the electric water pump to operate while controlling the flow rate control valve according to the temperature of the cylinder head, and whether or not heat exchange in the heater core is requested, during temporary engine stop.

摘要: Provided is a flow rate control valve capable of reducing a torque when a valve body in a housing is rotationally driven. A flow rate control valve includes a seal member configured to prevent or reduce a leak of fluid from a main communication hole or a main opening portion into a space portion. A valve body configured to be rotationally driven by a drive mechanism establishes communication between a first auxiliary communication hole and a first auxiliary opening portion regardless of a rotational position of the valve body, and also changes a communication state between the main communication hole and the main opening portion and a communication state between a second auxiliary communication hole and a second auxiliary opening portion according to the rotational position of the valve body. A pressure drop is caused, due to a space portion, on the fluid leaked out into the second auxiliary communication hole via the space portion formed between an inner peripheral surface of a valve body containing portion and an outer peripheral surface of the valve body. An amount of the fluid leaked out into the second auxiliary communication hole is set according to an allowable amount for an apparatus to which the main communication hole is connected, with the main communication hole and the main opening portion in communication with each other and the second auxiliary communication hole and the second auxiliary opening portion out of communication with each other.

An MCV8 includes a housing including a valve-element housing portion, a first communicating aperture which introduces cooling water, which is flown out of a first water channel formed in an engine, to a valve-element housing portion, and a second communicating aperture which discharges the cooling water in the valve-element housing portion to a second water channel formed in the engine; a rotor accommodated in the valve-element housing portion and configured to change a flow rate of the cooling water discharged to the second water channel, according to a rotation angle of the rotor; and a drive mechanism configured to control the rotation angle of the rotor. The first and second communicating apertures open in an engine-side mounting surface of the housing.

A control unit controls the flow rate control valve according to the temperature of the cylinder head and the temperature of the cylinder block.

摘要: A rotary control valve includes: a rotor including a tubular part and an opening in the tubular part; a seal member including a contact face, an internal passage, a noncontact part, and a ridge; a biasing member structured to cause the contact face of the seal member to be pressed on the tubular part; and a drive mechanism structured to rotate the rotor. The contact face is structured to be in sliding contact with the tubular part, and has an arc-curved surface shaped to fit with an outer periphery of the tubular part. The internal passage is structured to communicate with the opening of the tubular part. The noncontact part is formed at least one of ends of the arc-curved surface in a rotational direction of the tubular part, and is structured to be out of contact with the tubular part so as to define the ridge.

摘要: A water pump has a pump housing 2 having therein a pump chamber 3; a drive shaft 7 rotatably supported in the pump housing 2; a pulley 5 having a flange wall 5a fixed to one end portion of the drive shaft 7, the pulley 5 being formed integrally with the drive shaft 7 with synthetic resin material containing glass fiber material 25; and an impeller 8 secured to the other end portion of the drive shaft 7 so as to be able to rotate integrally with the drive shaft 7, the impeller 8 being accommodated in the pump chamber 3. Six penetration holes 23 are formed at the flange wall 5a, and the glass fiber material 25 existing around the penetration hole 23 is oriented at random. With this, decrease in strength of the pulley can be suppressed.
