Abstract: Provided is a cylindrical battery including: a shaft core; a set of wound electrodes including an electrode stack wound on the shaft core; an exterior member surrounding the set of wound electrodes; a cap disposed at one axial end of the shaft core and electrically connected to one of the positive and negative electrodes; and an insulating member disposed between the exterior member and the cap, the cap having an outer diameter that is larger than the inner diameter of the exterior member and smaller than the outer diameter of the exterior member, the insulating member having an outer diameter larger than the outer diameter of the cap, the insulating member having a protrusion that is located more inside in the radial direction of the set of wound electrodes than the inner surface of the exterior member and protrudes toward the set of wound electrodes.

Abstract: To enhance stiffness of a battery ceil and avoid cracking of an electrode without a reinforcement member in the battery cell configured such that a battery is covered with an exterior body including a laminated film. A battery cell includes a battery and an exterior body housing the battery. The exterior body includes a film in which a plurality of layers is stacked on each other, and the plurality of layers includes a surface layer to be a stiffness reinforcing layer, an air blocking layer, and an inner layer to be an adhesive layer. A buffer layer made of polyethylene terephthalate may be interposed between the air blocking layer and the inner layer. Moreover, an adhesive layer may be interposed between the air blocking layer and the surface layer. Further, a waterproof layer made of polypropylene or polyethylene terephthalate may be provided outside the air blocking layer.

Abstract: A battery unit includes: a module including m cell groups that are connected in series and each include n cells connected in parallel; m voltage detectors; (m×(n−1)) heat flow detectors; a storage; and a state estimator. The storage stores a table map of OCV vs. SOC characteristics (A1) and a table map of HF vs. SOC characteristics (A2). For each of the m cell groups, the state estimator is configured to: determine, based on the (A2), a true SOC of (n−1) cells that corresponds to a heat flow detected; determine, based on the (A1), an OCV of the (n−1) cells that corresponds to the determined true SOC; calculates an OCV of a remaining cell from the determined OCV and a detected composite voltage; and determine, based on the (A1), a true SOC of the remaining cell that corresponds to the calculated OCV.

Abstract: Provided are an electrode for lithium ion secondary batteries which can prevent cracking of the electrode, and a lithium ion secondary battery made using the same. An electrode (1, 2) for a lithium ion secondary battery (100) includes a collector (10, 20) of a metal porous body having a predetermined thickness, and having a corner of at least one location in a stereoscopic view; and an electrode mixture (18, 28) filled into these pores. The collector has a mixture filled region (11, 21) in which the electrode mixture is filled, and a mixture non-filled region (15, 25) in which the electrode mixture is not filled, or a high modulus filler having smaller elastic modulus than the electrode mixture is filled, existing at a corner of the collector.

Abstract: To provide a solid-state battery capable of achieving a higher capacity. A solid-state battery includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The positive electrode and the negative electrode each includes a current collector that is a metal porous body having a spiral shape, and an electrode material mixture with which the current collector is filled. The positive electrode and the negative electrode are arranged in combination such that opposing faces of the positive electrode and the negative electrode alternately contact each other in an axial direction of the spiral shape. A pair of the positive electrode and the negative electrode having the above structure are housed in an exterior packaging body having a cylindrical shape to achieve a higher capacity of the solid-state battery.
