    Abstract: A system and method are provided for adaptively processing audio commands supplied by a user in an aircraft cabin, and includes receiving ambient noise in the aircraft cabin via one or more audio input device, sampling, with a processor, the received ambient noise, and analyzing, in the processor, the sampled ambient noise and, based on the analysis, selecting one or more filter functions and adjusting one or more filter parameters associated with the one or more selected filter functions. Audio and ambient noise are selectively received via the one or more audio input devices, and are filtered, through the selected one or more filter functions, to thereby supply filtered audio.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for generating aircraft cabin control commands from verbal speech onboard an aircraft. An audio command supplied to an audio input device is processed. Each word of the processed audio command is compared to words stored in a vocabulary map to determine a word type of each word. Each determined word type is processed to determine if an intent of the audio command is discernable. If the intent is discernable, an aircraft cabin control command is generated based on the discerned intent. If a partial intent is discernable, feedback is generated.

    Abstract: A system and method for limiting in-rush current from a power source to a load includes sensing that a load has been electrically connected to receive electrical power from the power source. A current limiter circuit is configured to at least inhibit electrical current flow from the power source to the load for a predetermined time period. After the predetermined time period, the current limiter circuit is configured to no longer at least inhibit the electrical current flow from the power source to the load. Upon sensing that the load has been electrically disconnected from the power source, the current limiter circuit is reconfigured to at least inhibit electrical current flow from the power source to a load that may be subsequently connected to receive electrical power from the power source.

    Abstract: A customizable gesture controller is disclosed for retro-fitting and forward-fitting into existing spaces or structures. One embodiment of the controller comprises a controller board configured to host software; a response layer comprising a plurality of sections arranged sequentially, each of the plurality of sections comprising: one or more center LEDs; one or more runway LEDs; and one or more touch sensors; and an overlay comprising: a glass overlay layer; and a graphic overlay layer comprising a plurality of button icons corresponding to the plurality of sections. The response layer further comprises one or more marks positioned at boundaries between each of the plurality of sections, the one or more marks being configured to identify locations at which to adjust lengths of the response layer using an application of force.
