    摘要: A method for establishing a wireless connection comprises initiating, by a first device, a procedure of establishing a first wireless connection of a first communication protocol with relatively higher data rate and higher power consumption, between the first electronic device and a second electronic device, in response to one of: (a) detecting a first signal from a peripheral unit of the first electronic device, the first signal leading the first electronic device to become active and (b) detecting a second signal from the second electronic device via a second wireless connection of a second communication protocol established between the first electronic device and the second electronic device, the second signal indicating that the second electronic device is in use, or in response to (c) detecting the first signal that is detected within a predetermine time after receiving the second signal.

    摘要: A portable device and a manipulation method thereof are disclosed in this disclosure. The portable device includes a camera unit, a communication unit, a first switch button and a control module. The communication unit is configured for establishing a connection to a cloud server through a cellular telephony network. The first switch button is disposed on the portable device and configured for sensing a first manipulation input. The control module is coupled with the camera unit and the first switch button. In response to the first manipulation input sensed by the first switch button, the control module being adapted to trigger the camera unit for capturing an image, a streaming video or a video selectively according to a holding duration of the first manipulation input, and to trigger the communication unit for uploading the image, the streaming video or the video onto the cloud server.

The apparatus generates a height map according to a plurality of depth data of an image. The apparatus finds a first region of the height map, wherein the depth data within the first region change more greatly than the depth data outside the first region. The apparatus creates a plurality of grids on a plane according to the first region and generate a 3D mesh by morphing the height map with the grids of the plane. The plane and the height map are of the same size, a second region within the plane corresponds to the first region of the height map, and the grids inside the second region has a finer resolution than the grids outside the second region. The apparatus generates the 3D scene by mapping the image onto the 3D mesh.

    摘要: A method for creating a parallax video from a still image includes following steps. Image segmentation is performed for separating at least a foreground object within the still image from an image background of the still image. A blank region of the image background is filled, and the blank region corresponds to where the separated foreground object locates within the still image. A virtual three-dimensional (3D) scene consisting of the foreground object and the image background is created. The virtual 3D scene is analyzed for determining a camera path; and, creating the parallax video by observing the virtual 3D scene with a virtual camera moving along the camera path.
