摘要: Embodiments of this application disclose a communications method, apparatus, and system. Specifically, after receiving information about a multicast area from a sender of a multicast service, a first core network device in a first network obtains, based on the information, indication information indicates that the first network cannot support the multicast service in the multicast area, or indicates that the first network supports the multicast service in a portion of areas of the multicast area; and sends the indication information to the sender. In this way, the sender of the multicast service can determine whether the first network supports the multicast service in the multicast area.

摘要: A communication method for transmitting multicast data by using a same multicast user plane function (UPF) includes: a first session management function (SMF) obtains forwarding configuration information or quality of service (QoS) context information of multicast data, and sends, to a second SMF, first path information for establishing a transmission path for multicast data transmission between a multicast UPF and a unicast UPF, or second path information for establishing a transmission path between the multicast UPF and an access network device.

摘要: This disclosure provides a communication method and apparatus. The method includes: A multicast session management network element receives first information of a first multicast service from an application server, where the first information indicates at least one of the following: a first service area of the first multicast service, a type of the first multicast service, or the first multicast service. The multicast session management network element sends a service area identifier of the first multicast service to the application server based on the first information. In this way, the application server may obtain the service area identifier of the first multicast service, namely, a service area identifier (SAI) of the first multicast service when the application server does not learn of network topology information.

摘要: This disclosure provides a multicast service transmission method and apparatus, to avoid a resource waste and help save resources. The method is applied to a scenario in which a terminal device moves from a source access network device to a target access network device. The method includes: obtaining multicast capability information of the target access network device; and sending information about a multicast session to the target access network device when the multicast capability information indicates that the target access network device supports multicast, where the information about the multicast session is used for allocating a transmission resource to the multicast session, and the multicast session is used for transmitting data of a multicast service corresponding to the terminal device.

摘要: This application discloses a communication method and a communications apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a mobility management network element, a registration request message from a terminal, where the registration request message is used to request a vehicle-to-everything V2X configuration parameter for the terminal, and the V2X configuration parameter is used by the terminal to perform a V2X service; sending, by the mobility management network element, a parameter request message to a V2X parameter configuration network element based on the registration request message, where the parameter request message is used to request the V2X configuration parameter of the terminal from the V2X parameter configuration network element; and receiving, by the mobility management network element, the V2X configuration parameter from the V2X parameter configuration network element, and sending the V2X configuration parameter to the terminal. Use of this application helps improve security of the V2X service.

摘要: This application discloses example communications methods and apparatuses. One example method includes receiving a first request message from a terminal, where the first request message is used to request information used for PC5 interface-based communication of the terminal. A second request message can be sent to a policy and charging function network element based on the first request message, where the second request message is used to request the information used for the PC5 interface-based communication. A quality of service (QoS) rule used for the PC5 interface-based communication can then be received from the policy and charging function network element. The QoS rule can then be sent to the terminal based on the first request message, where the apparatus is a mobility management network element or located in a mobility management network element.

摘要: This application provides a communication method and apparatus, to resolve a problem that a PDU session of a terminal in an inactive mode fails to be activated. The method performed by a first core network device includes: sending first downlink information to a first RAN node, where the first downlink information is used by the first RAN node to activate a PDU session of a terminal, and the PDU session is in an inactive state; receiving indication information from the first RAN node, where the indication information indicates that the PDU session fails to be activated; and sending second downlink information to a second RAN node based on the indication information, where the second downlink information is used by the second RAN node to activate the PDU session of the terminal. This application relates to the field of communications technologies.

摘要: A communication method, including, when a terminal device is in an idle mode or an inactive mode, a first control plane functional entity that obtains access network information of the terminal device and sends context information of the terminal device to an access network device corresponding to the access network information. Therefore, when the terminal device is in the idle mode or the inactive mode, the first control plane functional entity obtains the access network information of the terminal device and pre-sends the context information of the terminal device to the access network device corresponding to the access network information. When the terminal device needs to transmit data, the terminal device does not need to wait for the process of transmitting the context information of the terminal device, thereby facilitating reducing a delay.
