Abstract: A planar transformer is disclosed. The planar transformer includes a first core, a second core, a third core, and a fourth core, which are sequentially disposed; a primary coil unit having multiple primary substrates through which the first to fourth cores penetrate and on which primary coil patterns are formed such that magnetic flux is generated in a first direction in the first and fourth cores and in a second direction in the second and third cores; and a secondary coil unit having multiple secondary substrates through which the first to fourth cores penetrate and on which secondary coil patterns are formed, the secondary coil patterns formed on a periphery of the first to fourth cores such that current induced by the magnetic flux flowing in the first to fourth cores flows therein, wherein the multiple primary and secondary substrates form a multi-layer structure.

Abstract: A united converter apparatus and an operating method thereof are disclosed. The united converter apparatus includes a high-voltage charger charging a high-voltage battery, using a commercial power and a low-voltage charger charging a low-voltage battery, using the high-voltage battery. The high-voltage charger includes a voltage level adjustment device boosts a voltage of the commercial power to apply the boosted voltage to the high-voltage battery and drops a high voltage applied from the high-voltage battery to apply the dropped voltage to the low-voltage charger.

Abstract: A power conversion system for vehicles is provided. The system includes a first energy storage device and a charging device with a rectification circuit for rectifying AC power to generate a DC link voltage. A DC-DC converter converts the level of the DC link voltage to generate a charging voltage of the first energy storage device. A low voltage DC-DC converter selectively down-converts one of the voltage of the first energy storage device and the DC link voltage to output a low voltage having a predetermined level. The low voltage DC-DC converter selectively converts one of the voltage of the first energy storage device and the DC link voltage into the low voltage based on whether the first energy storage device is charged according to input of the AC power.

Abstract: A power conversion system for vehicles is provided. The system includes a switching circuit having first input/output terminals, second input/output terminals and a plurality of switching elements connected between the first input/output terminals and the second input/output terminals. A first energy storage device is connected to the second input/output terminals and has a preset charging/discharging voltage. A first voltage conversion circuit converts power output from the first input/output terminals to output a voltage less than the voltage of the first energy storage device. A second energy storage device is charged/discharged with the output voltage of the first voltage conversion circuit. A controller controls open/short-circuit states of the switching elements based on whether the first energy storage device is being charged and whether the vehicle is traveling. When the first energy storage device is being charged, AC charging power is provided to the first input/output terminals from outside of the vehicle.

Abstract: A device and a method for controlling a high side DC/DC converter (HDC) of a hybrid vehicle are provided. The switching frequency of the HDC is variably adjusted based on situations of temperatures of an inductor and an IGBT switching element, which constitute the HDC, to maintain a balance between the temperatures of the inductor and the IGBT switching element. Accordingly, temperatures of the inductor and the IGBT switching element are detected, and the switching frequency of the HDC is variably adjusted based on a situation for each temperature of each element to maintain a balance between the temperatures of the inductor and the IGBT switching element, thereby improving the utilization rate of the IGBT switching element.
