Abstract: A vehicle may include a first battery to output power of a first voltage, a second battery to output power of a second voltage, a DC-DC converter to convert the first voltage of the first battery into the second voltage, and to supply the power of the second voltage to the second battery. The DC-DC converter may include a transformer to convert the first voltage into the second voltage, a first switch to control first current input to the transformer from the first battery, a current sensor to measure a value of second current output to the second battery from the transformer, and a controller to turn on/off the first switch based on a set turning-on/off frequency. The controller may delay turning-on/off of the first switch based on the measured value of the second current.

Abstract: A vehicle charging apparatus includes: an AC/DC converter configured to variably output a DC link voltage; and a DC/DC converter electrically connected to the AC/DC converter and configured to acquire an output voltage by conversion of the DC link voltage outputted by the AC/DC converter and transmit the acquired output voltage to a battery. The AC/DC converter includes: a first switch element configured to adjust a power factor of the AC/DC converter according to an operation of the first switch element, and a second switch element configured to increase the DC link voltage outputted by the AC/DC converter according to the operation of the first switch element.

Abstract: A system of charging a battery of a vehicle is provide. The system includes a charger having a DC capacitor to which a DC voltage converted from an AC charge voltage is applied and a first DC converter that converts the magnitude of a voltage of the DC capacitor. A first battery is connected to the first DC converter and is charged with a DC voltage converted by the first DC converter. A second DC converter is connected to the battery and converts a magnitude of a voltage of the battery. A second battery receives a DC voltage converted by the second DC converter. A controller charges the DC capacitor up to a predetermined initial charge voltage using power stored in the second battery by operating the second DC converter and the first DC converter in a backward direction before the AC charge voltage is provided to the charger.

Abstract: A charging apparatus for an electric vehicle is provided. The apparatus charges a vehicle battery upon receiving power from different power sources. The apparatus includes a motor generating power to drive the electric vehicle and an inverter supplying power to the motor. An AC power input terminal receives at least one of single-phase AC power and multi-phase AC power. A power factor corrector having a single three-leg half bridge circuit receives the AC input power through the AC power input terminal. A link capacitor is charged through a combination of the power factor corrector, the motor, and the inverter. A switch network has at least one switch for selectively connecting the AC power input terminal to the power factor corrector, the link capacitor, the motor, or the inverter. A controller operates the power factor corrector, the switch network, and the inverter based on a condition of received AC input power.

Abstract: A power conversion system for vehicles is provided. The system includes a switching circuit having first input/output terminals, second input/output terminals and a plurality of switching elements connected between the first input/output terminals and the second input/output terminals. A first energy storage device is connected to the second input/output terminals and has a preset charging/discharging voltage. A first voltage conversion circuit converts power output from the first input/output terminals to output a voltage less than the voltage of the first energy storage device. A second energy storage device is charged/discharged with the output voltage of the first voltage conversion circuit. A controller controls open/short-circuit states of the switching elements based on whether the first energy storage device is being charged and whether the vehicle is traveling. When the first energy storage device is being charged, AC charging power is provided to the first input/output terminals from outside of the vehicle.
