摘要: The present disclosure relates to a technique for scheduling resource reservations of services in a service providing network. A method embodiment comprises the steps of receiving a resource reservation request indicating a preferred time period for delivery of a requested service available in the network; and scheduling resource reservation of the requested service based on statistical information related to resource utilisations or reservations of one or more services available in the network and the preferred time period for delivery of the requested service.

摘要: To control content delivery to plural clients (6) of a mobile communication network (1), a network entity (5) of the mobile communication network (1) collects geo information of the plural clients (6) and evaluates the collected geo information of the plural clients (6) based on a rule to determine whether the content delivery is to be adapted. The network entity (5) identifies a region for which the content delivery is to be adapted. The network entity (5) selectively outputs a message (9) to a controlling entity (10) if it is determined that the content delivery is to be adapted. The controlling entity (10) controls the content delivery in response to receiving the message (9), to adapt the content delivery for clients located in the identified region.

摘要: For improving feed-based automatic distribution of content to a mobile terminal via a mobile network, a network component (150) comprises a network-side agent (160). The network-side agent (160) manages the feed-based automatic transmission of content to the mobile terminal and is configured to periodically generate a feed request to a feed server, to receive a requested feed from the feed server in response to the feed request, and to transmit the received feed to the mobile terminal. The network component (150) may also comprise a cache memory (164) for storing copies of feeds and contents and a proxy for processing feed requests and content requests received from the mobile terminal (110).

摘要: A technique is disclosed for controlling data packet transmissions from a server to a client having a client buffer in accordance with a waiting mode and a dynamic mode. The waiting mode is performed before packets containing data encoded subject to a current bit rate have reached the client buffer; the dynamic mode is performed otherwise. In the waiting mode, down-switches to lower bit rates are allowed but up-switches to higher bit rates are disabled. In the dynamic mode, up-switches and down-switches are both allowed, with adjustments in the bit rate of packets controlled based, in part, on the amount of data contained within the client buffer when packets containing data encoded subject to the current bit rate first reached the client buffer. The two modes help avoid unnecessary rate switches.

摘要: A technique for distributing in a multicasting network media content via two or more media layers is described. The media layers are hierarchically arranged in accordance with a scalable coding protocol such as the Scalable Video Coding (SVC) protocol. In a method implementation of this technique, in a first step a first number of media recipients for a first media layer that is transmitted via a first bearer of the multicasting network is determined. Then, a second bearer of the multicasting network for at least one second media layer is selected taking into account the first number and a hierarchical relationship between the first media layer and the second media layer.

摘要: This invention relates to a method for streaming a media file to an end user using a hypertext transfer protocol HTTP, wherein a proxy monitors HTTP messages for detecting a streaming of the media file using HTTP. When a HTTP message is received, the proxy determines bearer parameters required for streaming the media file and determines whether a bearer meeting an appropriate service quality is necessary. If necessary, the proxy triggers a provision of the bearer meeting with said appropriate service quality.
