    摘要: A silicon-based curable composition providing improved transparency, mechanical strength and resistance against heat and photo-degradation comprises at least one organopolysiloxane represented by the composition formula (1): (R13SiO1/2)a(R12SiO2/2)b(R1R2SiO2/2)c(R1SiO3/2)d(R2SiO3/2)e(R12R2SiO1/2)f  (1), wherein each R2 independently represents a methacryloxyalkyl group having 5 to 20 carbon atoms and a≧0, b≧0, c≧0, d≧0, e≧0, f≧0, c+e>0, and a+b+c+d+e+f=1; and at least one curing catalyst. The product is ideal for encapsulation of LED (light emitting device) elements.

    摘要: A method for producing a hydroxyl-functionalized polysiloxane having secondary or tertiary hydroxyl groups, said method comprising the steps of: i) reacting a hydroxyalkyl allyl ether having a secondary or tertiary alcohol group with a siloxane under anhydrous conditions and under transition metal catalysis, said hydroxylalkyl allyl ether conforming to Formula (I) wherein n is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, preferably 0; m is 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, preferably 1; spacer group A is constituted by a covalent bond or a C1-C20 alkylene group; R1 is hydrogen, a C1-C8 alkyl group, a C3-C10 cycloalkyl group, a C6-C18 aryl group or an aralkyl group; Ra, Rb, Rc, Rd, R2, R3, R4 and R5 may be the same or different and each is independently selected from hydrogen, a C1-C8 alkyl group, a C6-C18 aryl group or a C6-C18 aralkyl group, with the proviso that at least one of R3 and R4 is not hydrogen; and said siloxane conforming to Formula (II) wherein m is 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, preferably 1; R6, R7, R8 and R9 may be the same or different and each represent a C1-C8 alkyl group, a C3-C10 cycloalkyl group, a C6-C18 aryl group or a C6-C18 aralkyl group; and ii) in the presence of the reaction product of step i), performing a ring opening polymerization of at least one cyclic siloxane monomer.

    摘要: The present invention relates to radiation or radiation/moisture dual curable polymers and methods for their manufacture. These polymers are useful for various applications in the fields of adhesives, coatings, and sealants. The radiation curable polymers comprise at least one terminal group of the general formula (I) -A1-C(═O)—CR1═CH2  (I), wherein
    A1 is a divalent bonding group containing at least one heteroatom; and
    R1 is selected from H and C1-C4 alkyl, preferably H and methyl;
    wherein the polymer backbone is selected from the group consisting of polyoxyalkylenes, poly(meth)acrylates, polyesters, and combinations thereof. and optionally further comprise at least one terminal group of the general formula (II) -A2-SiXYZ  (II), wherein X, Y, Z are, independently of one another, selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group and C1 to C8 alkyl, C1 to C8 alkoxy, and C1 to C8 acyloxy groups, wherein X, Y, Z are substituents directly bound with the Si atom or the two of the substituents X, Y, Z form a ring together with the Si atom to which they are bound, and at least one of the substituents X, Y, Z is selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, C1 to C8 alkoxy and C1 to C8 acyloxy groups; and A2 is a divalent bonding group containing at least one heteroatom.
