Abstract: Example implementations relate to upgrading access points (APs). In some examples, a primary AP may comprise a processing resource and a memory resource storing machine readable instructions to determine, in response to receiving a data transmission from a secondary AP, whether an image version of the secondary AP and a class of the secondary AP are a same image version and class as the primary AP, determine whether the class of the secondary AP is a same class as a seed AP, and instruct the secondary AP, in response to the seed AP being the same class as the secondary AP, to upgrade the image version of the secondary AP from the seed AP.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to host discovery for firewall coordination. An embodiment of a storage medium includes instructions for discovering a network topology for a network branch, the network branch including multiple access points including a first access point, the first access point having an interface to a network, the discovery of the network topology including identifying any access point that is linked to the first access point directly or via one or more intermediary access points; discovering one or more host devices that are connected by wireless or wired connections to one or more access points in the network branch; and generating a firewall coordination plan for the network branch based on the discovered network topology and the discovered one or more hosts, the firewall coordination plan including applying a firewall process for an access point to which a first host device is attached and bypassing one or more other firewall processes.

Abstract: The invention includes, in part, storing a seed image having instructions to communicate with devices of a predetermined device type, but not instructions to provision a network device to be fully operational in a network. A processor boots a network device in the network for a first time, detects if another network device exists in the network, and downloads a full version of a product image from the other network device. The full version of the product image uniquely corresponds to network devices deployed in the network that include at least one device of the predetermined device type, replaces the seed image with the full version of the product image, and provisions the network device to a particular device type of the network.

Abstract: According to an example, in a method, an access point may determine whether the access point is to function as an unconnected mesh portal in a wireless mesh network. In response to a determination that the access point is to function as an unconnected mesh portal in the wireless mesh network, the access point may use a self-assigned Internet Protocol (IP) addressing technique to obtain an IP address for the access point. In addition, the access point may implement a stored static mesh key to form the wireless mesh network with another access point and to output configuration information to the another access point.
