    摘要： A method of help-information control for displaying help information on a display unit of an information processing system executing a plurality of application programs. A status management table for storing the executing status of application programs is provided as common to these programs. During execution of a given application program, the contents of the status information table are updated successively in accordance with the executing status. Whenever an operator makes a help request, the contents of the status management table in effect at that point in time are referenced. The table is searched for the help information corresponding to the request. When found and retrieved, the information is displayed. The search is performed using a program identifier, a message identifier, and a help message searching table that includes the position information containing the corresponding help data. Each application program is equipped with a control data part that makes it possible to reference help data of other application programs.

A system for editing and printing documents includes a plurality of printing program each corresponding with each of the editing programs and operating independently of one another for generating graphics commands in accordance with the edited data a printing control program for generating print images composed of dots in accordance with the graphics commands from the printing programs and a printing management program for controlling operations of the printing programs in accordance with data in a control data file which stores therein data related to printing programs such as print positions of individual edited data. The system also provides an operating system capable of multitask control, which controls a printing conditions set up program independently of the operation of the printing management program, whereby printing requests are enabled to be received in succession if such requests are made in the course of printing.

    摘要： A print control system for controlling a computer system comprising a processing unit, a memory unit, a display unit, an input unit and a printer. The memory unit has print request blocks each for storing information necessary for printing a document, and an area for storing a print queue for defining the print execute order of the print request blocks. The processing unit executes a print request program through which a print request provided by the operator is set together with necessary information in the print request block and the print request block is added to the print queue, a print execute program through which information stored in the print request blocks is fetched sequentially in the order of registration of the print request block in the print queue and the printer is controlled for printing operation on the basis of the information, a printing status operating program through which the contents of the print queue are displayed on the display unit, the print request block is removed from the print queue and the order of the print request blocks in the print queue is changed in conformity to instructions given by the operator, and a system management program through which those programs are activated for controlling the printing operation.

    摘要： A document producing apparatus comprises an input unit for inputting descriptive contents such as characters or figures which contstruct a document and a format which defines a sheet size of a paper sheet used, a sheet direction of portrait or landscape in which the sheet is to be used, and a layout of the descriptive contents in each page, a storage unit for storing therein the descriptive contents and the format inputted from the input unit, a display unit for selectively displaying the contents stored in the storage unit, and an in-document layout editing unit for displaying on the display unit a layout of a plurality of pages forming the document so that page information of the respective pages are partitioned in due order from a leading page and for every predetermined number of pages and are arranged in one display image, the page information including at least the sheet size and the sheet direction stored in the storage unit. The apparatus may further comprise a page editing unit for performing the editing for a desired page while referring to a display image displayed on the display unit.

The text input control apparatus controls the arrangement to the character string at the time of text input by referring to the region information whose position on the page is fixed.
