摘要： A content receiver comprises: an acceptance unit for accepting a designation of a recording medium to which contents are to be output; a license information acquiring unit for acquiring output license information describing the output requirements of the contents; and an output unit for outputting the contents to the designated recording medium. The output license information includes usage time limit information indicating the time limit of using the contents in an output destination. The output unit acquires the usage time limit information from the output license information for the contents, and sets the acquired usage time limit information to a management information storing area in the designated recording medium, thereby managing the time period of using the contents in the recording medium even if the copyright protection of the recording medium, which is an export destination, has a function to manage the time period of using the contents.

摘要： A power consumption control apparatus for an information processing apparatus having multi-tasking control which executes a plurality of information processing operations in parallel by time-divisionally switching a plurality of tasks in an arithmetic processing unit. The power consumption controlled apparatus detects an event where there are no information processing operations to be executed, sets the arithmetic processing unit to a power-saving mode in response to the event and immediately clears the power-saving mode set in the arithmetic processing unit in response to an interrupt signal from an input/output device. Alternatively, the power consumption control apparatus after detecting the event stops supply of a clock to the arithmetic processing unit or lowers a frequency of the clock in response to the event. Thereafter, the power consumption control apparatus immediately resumes supply of the clock to the arithmetic processing unit or raises the frequency of the clock in response to an interrupt signal from an input/output device.

摘要： A method of help-information control for displaying help information on a display unit of an information processing system executing a plurality of application programs. A status management table for storing the executing status of application programs is provided as common to these programs. During execution of a given application program, the contents of the status information table are updated successively in accordance with the executing status. Whenever an operator makes a help request, the contents of the status management table in effect at that point in time are referenced. The table is searched for the help information corresponding to the request. When found and retrieved, the information is displayed. The search is performed using a program identifier, a message identifier, and a help message searching table that includes the position information containing the corresponding help data. Each application program is equipped with a control data part that makes it possible to reference help data of other application programs.
