摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a developing unit storage device including a plurality of storage sections capable of storing developing units and a first detection unit for detecting the presence/absence and types of the developing units in the plurality of storage sections, an image forming device which includes a second detection unit for detecting the presence/absence and a type of a developing unit in the image forming device, and can form an image on a recording material using the developing unit conveyed from the developing unit storage device, a communication device for causing the developing unit storage device and the image forming device to exchange data associated with the presence/absence and types of the developing units, a first display device for displaying the presence/absence and types of the developing units on the basis of a detection result by the first detection unit and the data transmitted from the image forming device by the communication device, and a second display device for displaying the presence/absence and types of the developing units on the basis of a detection result by the second detection unit and the data transmitted from the developing unit storage device by the communication device.

摘要: An analog copying apparatus for optically exposing an original and copying it onto an arbitrary copy area on a copy paper has an area designating function and comprises: an image area designating apparatus to designate an arbitrary area on the original; a copy area designating apparatus to designate an arbitrary area on the copy paper; and copying means for copying the image in the image area into the copy area. This copying apparatus further has: an original moving apparatus to move the original on an original plate; a lens moving apparatus to move a lens provided in the optical path in an arbitrary direction; a cassette moving apparatus to move a cassette in which the copy papers are enclosed; and a resist control apparatus to control the resist timing, wherein the image in the image area is copied onto the copy area by means of at least one of or a combination of a plurality of these apparatuses. A copy magnification may be calculated and set from the image area and copy area, and the image in the image area is copied onto the copy area on the basis of this magnification.

摘要: There is a multi-color copying apparatus having image processing functions which can easily designate arbitrary areas when the trimming or masking is executed. This apparatus comprises: an area designating device to designate the first area of the original; a first developing device to develop the image of the first area in the first color; a second developing device to develop the image of the second area in the second color; and a control circuit for making the first developing device operative without making the second developing device operative in accordance with the designation of the first area and, after completion of the development of the image of the first area, making the second developing device operative without making the first developing device operative. The control circuit inhibits the operation of the first or second developing device by moving the first or second developing device to a position away from the photo sensitive drum, or by applying the bias voltage to the first or second developing device such that the toner from the inoperative developing device is not deposited onto the drum.

摘要: A copying apparatus for optically reading images on the same or different originals and copying them into an arbitrary copy area on a copy paper has an area designating function and includes an image area designating apparatus to designate an arbitrary area on the original; a multiple transfer apparatus to multiple transfer the images in a plurality of image areas designated by the image area designating apparatus; a copy area designating apparatus to designate an arbitrary area on the copy paper and to copy the images in the image areas into the copy area designated; and a color designating apparatus to respectively designate the colors for a plurality of image areas designated by the image area designating apparatus. The images in the image areas are multiple transferred into the copy area by the multiple transfer apparatus on the basis of the designated colors.

摘要: An image processing apparatus includes a process unit for reproducing an image on a document onto a recording medium and a detection circuit for detecting the status of the document image. A control circuit controls the process unit to reproduce the document image at a predetermined magnification. The status of the document may include the area of the image on the document, whether the document image is adjacent an edge of the document, the location of the edge of the document, or the disposition of the document. The magnification of reproduction of the document image is then controlled by the control circuit in accordance with the detection of that particular status. For example, if it is determined that the document image is adjacent the edge of the document, reproduction is controlled to be at reduced magnification. If the document is determined to be away from a reference position, a portion of the reproduced image may be erased so that only the actual document image is reproduced rather than unwanted background adjacent the document.

摘要: There is disclosed an image forming apparatus, such as a copying machine, capable of various image forming modes. The image forming mode can be selected by feeding a mode registration format sheet into the apparatus. The format sheet can be a marking sheet, on which the operator can designate the desired image forming mode, and can be printed by the image forming apparatus itself in response to an instruction by the operator, so that the format sheet need not be prepared elsewhere in advance. Also the content of the format sheet, printed by the image forming apparatus, is varied according to the available copying modes, depending on the connection status of external processing units such as document feeder and sorter to the image forming apparatus.
