摘要: A mattress support assembly includes a mattress cover that has a coupling feature. A support casing defines an attachment feature and is selectively coupled to the mattress cover via the coupling feature. A support member is operably coupled to the attachment feature of the support casing. The support member has a load surface, a base surface, and an expandable body defined between the load surface and the base surface.

摘要: Wound dressings including a skin contact layer and a cover layer removably adhered to the top surface of the skin contact layer are described. The skin contact layer includes a lower substrate extending around a central aperture and a lower adhesive. The lower substrate includes a top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface. The lower adhesive is disposed on the bottom surface of the lower substrate. The cover layer substantially covers the central aperture of the lower substrate, and includes an upper substrate and a backing layer. An upper adhesive is positioned between the top surface of the lower substrate and a bottom surface of the backing layer. In embodiments, the cover layer can be removed and changed while the skin contact layer remains adhered to the skin around a wound.

摘要: This disclosure is directed towards a patient management system for selectively storing and/or sharing patient data. A wearable device may sense a condition associated with the wearer of the wearable device, and store values based on the condition for a period of time. The wearable device may determine that the wearable device is within range of another device, such that the wearable device can communicate with the other device, and output the values to the other device. Additionally, a computing device of the patient management system may receive, from a wearable device, first data associated with a condition of a wearer of the wearable device. The computing device may also receive second data associated with the condition from a sensing device. The computing device may determine a context of the wearer based on comparing the first and second data, and control output of an alert based on the context.

摘要: A system for detecting potential for infection includes a wound dressing and an electronics component. The wound dressing includes a temperature sensing layer and a cover layer comprising a substrate and a backing layer. The electronics component includes a power source, an electronic control unit (ECU), and a communications interface positioned within a housing and removably coupled to the temperature sensing layer of the wound dressing. The electronics component is configured to receive a plurality of temperature readings from the temperature sensing layer, and provide an indication of potential infection of the wound based the plurality of temperature readings. In various embodiments, each of the plurality of temperature readings corresponds to a temperature of an area around a wound. Methods for preventing infections using the system are also described.

摘要: A heat exchange system includes a thermoelectric device operably coupled with a support apparatus. The thermoelectric device is configured to reduce a temperature at a first location and increase a temperature at a second location different than the first location. A fan is disposed adjacent to the thermoelectric device. The fan is configured to direct heat generated by the thermoelectric device toward the second location. A controller is communicatively coupled with the thermoelectric device and the fan. The controller is configured to activate the thermoelectric device and the fan to reduce the temperature at the first location and concurrently increase the temperature at the second location. The first location is configured to align with a first area on a patient and the second location is configured to align with a second area on the patient.
