摘要: A data transmitting device includes a coded-data generating unit and a data transmitting unit. The coded-data generating unit divides transmission data by a predetermined number in accordance with a data size of the transmission data and then adds a redundant code to the divided transmission data at a predetermined ratio or adds the redundant code to the transmission data at the predetermined ratio so as to generate multiple blocks of coded data. The data transmitting unit groups together the multiple blocks of coded data generated by the coded-data generating unit into a number of blocks that are inserted into a transmission data block, which has a predetermined size, and then transmits the transmission data block.

摘要: In a storage controller provided for a storage system provided with a plurality of disk devices, for controlling to storage data in the plurality of disk devices, an encoding unit encodes data to be stored in the plurality of disk devices by erasure correction coding to obtain encoded data. A storage/reading unit stores the encoded data in the plurality of disk devices and fetches the encoded data from the plurality of disk devices, according to instructions from a personal computer. A transmitting unit transmits the encoded data fetched from the plurality of disk devices by the storage/reading unit to a storage system 1B connected to a storage system 1A via a network.

摘要: A wafer detecting device usable with a carrier has a plurality of wafer carrying portions disposed in stories for carrying wafers thereon. The device comprises a light emitting portion for emitting a light beams so that it passes through the carrier from one side thereof to the other side thereof and in a direction substantially parallel to a plane in which a wafer is carried on a wafer carrying portion of the carrier. A light receiving portion is disposed at the other side of the carrier for detecting presence/absence of the light passed through the carrier. The light emitting portion is arranged to emit the light over a dimensional range covering all the wafer carrying portions with respect to a direction in which the wafer carrying portions are disposed in stories, and the light receiving portion is fixed relative to the carrier and has a light receiving surface having an effective dimensional range greater than the dimensional range covering all the wafer carrying portions with respect to the direction in which the wafer carrying portions are disposed in stories.

摘要: A storage apparatus composed of a plurality of magnetic disk devices are provided. An encoding unit generates, after dividing original data, a plurality pieces of encoded data equal to or more than the number of division by use of a code of which redundancy is variable. A redundancy control unit varies the redundancy in the encoding unit in accordance with the importance of the original data. A distribution processing unit distributes and stores the plurality of encoded data to and in the plurality of magnetic disk devices. A decoding unit retrieves the encoded data corresponding to, at least, the division number of the original data from the magnetic disk devices so as to decode the original data.
