摘要： A digital data line driver includes a data input circuit for fetching data in response to an external clock, a reference voltage supply circuit having reference voltages corresponding to a plurality of gray-scale levels, a selector circuit for selecting a specified reference voltage representing the data from among those of the reference power supply circuit, and an output circuit for outputting the reference voltage selected by the selector circuit as display data onto data lines. The data input circuit and output circuit have a data-crossing function for switching data between adjoining channels of the data lines according to an external data switching control signal. Owing to this configuration, deterioration of liquid crystal can be prevented and a better display can be attained with suppressed flickers. At the same time, the picture-frame space can be reduced.

摘要： A drive circuit for a display device including a display panel for displaying an image line by line has a data register. The data register is used to store optional data in response to a control signal, to overwrite the stored optional data with display data, and to prepare display data for a given line of the display panel. The data prepared in the data register is transferred to the display panel to display the given line of the display panel. The drive circuit is capable of supplementing display data if the display data is improper for the display, thereby securing the quality of the displayed images.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel having a display region and including two substrates, and a cover transparent member placed on and bonded to the liquid crystal display panel with an adhesive sheet interposed therebetween. The cover transparent member has a frame region in the vicinity of its outer edge. In the frame region, a coloring coating formed on the cover transparent member is arranged and made of a material the same as a material for a first reference member, the first reference member being any member arranged in the form of a film to adhere to a surface of one of the two substrates of the liquid crystal display panel. The adhesive sheet covers the cover transparent member while contacting the coloring coating.

摘要： A common electrode driving circuit is provided on a TFT substrate as a first substrate. Striped common electrodes are formed along the layout of pixels, such as data lines (or scanning lines), on a common substrate as a second substrate. The common electrode driving circuit inverts a common electrode voltage that is applied to a common electrode of an odd-number order, relative to a common electrode voltage that is applied to a common electrode of an even-number order. The common electrode driving circuit inverts these common electrode voltages to match the polarity inversion period at the same time. Based on this, a common inversion driving system is realized, and flicker is reduced according to a lengthwise line (or crosswise line) inversion driving system.
